I like how you played Gamzee's part, and then even added the little honk at the end
@dothemusicything85418 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The honks are fairly essential to his part; I had to include them or it would just be the main RDA theme.

I wasn't being serious with the yelling thing, y'know, if you scream while listening a song you won't listen the song actually. PS: I'm pretty sure that screaming is not a hs exclusive thing.

I just googled it. Rex Duodecim Angelus, in Latin roughly translates to, "King of Twelve Angels."
@channelremoved328 жыл бұрын
I assumed it meant "King _and_ Twelve Angels", but I suppose "of" works too.
@digthehappy6758 жыл бұрын
The more literal translation is "King Twelve Angels." So yea I guess you can look at it either way.
@Shadow17Link7 жыл бұрын
I actually took Latin for a few semesters in high school. Only slightly useless. Anyway it would be of because the endings of the words suppose a possesive form. The latin word for and is et so it isn't and. Nerd facts of the day

The Twelve Angel's King Like the trolls are the Angel's and Rex Duodecim Angelus is the King
@pidove017 жыл бұрын
Sean Lambourne Actually, Rex Duodecim Angelus contains no words in the genitive form, meaning no possession is implied. Though an et or a -que is still missing, so it could be either. I've always thought of it as of.

This was awesome! I also love how you did the Gamzee segment, as most covers I've seen cut it out.
@dothemusicything85418 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The Gamzee part really isn't that difficult - you just go faster and faster and let it become uneven and messy, because that fits the character.

my mother and I sat here arguing about the tune of this- she's never heard rex duodecim angelus before but she started humming the tune PERFECTLY and I was confused as hell and she said it was a tune from "volga boatmen" but when I listen to it I just don't hear it.
@dothemusicything85417 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I just looked up Volga Boatmen and it's not the same melody. I don't know where she had heard it.
@shepsfield6 жыл бұрын
This is an original tune.
@earthensystem35245 жыл бұрын
If anything, it sounds like moskau
@FennecShard5 ай бұрын
Popping in very late to say I've performed the Volga boatman myself for a professional solo and just went to look at the full original song to make sure. And (although a time stamp would help) I personally don't hear the exact melody pop up, but the first half of this song in particular *loves* to cling to many traditional Russian motifs, while interweaving character motifs into it. Since the song starts in what I'd describe as D flat major, I have to believe like the other commenter mentioned that Moskau is the most similar to the beginning of this song (while reversing a couple of the melody movements)
