Great video of the break down. I imagine the issue is the pistons get hung up in the bore and twist. Then the real destruction begins by grind the roller down on the cam pushing metal through the fuel system. That CP4 is why I went with a 2018 instead of the 19 a couple years ago. Correct. On the car lot a 2021s have a new pump that closely resembles a CP3. I haven't seen documentation from Cummins that they changed but obviously they did.

According to Cummins when I sent them an email, they do not choose the injector pump.Apparently that was FCA's screw up. I have a 2020 and hoping they come up with a fix soon... I don't need to be stuck in BFE with my 5th wheel etc.

The gold module is the high pressure side of the pump it is the part that sends the fuel to the injectors

We have a couple of guys now that all have a noise around 900-1100 rpm with the S&S CP3. Truck has to be warmed up. Easiest way to hear it is to set your high idle manually then pump the gas a bit. We have 2500s though.

I've noticed a slight rough idle on this truck even with the cp4 in it when its cold, sometimes even when warmed up

Thanks for takeing that CP4 apart because it answered a lot of questions about what the heck is in that thing! The cover that has to two rotor gears in it looks just like the hydrolic pump that feed the loader on my tractor thst I had to rebuild so it just might work like one pump feader another like you said. The the question I have is on the CP3 So you just drop this in unlike the old Peepump that you have to time it?

Bosch really screwed up by not keying that piston in the bore to keep it from spinning. Cam roller lifters are always keyed for obvious reasons. And after years of failure, why haven't they tried to remedy the problems? Anyways nice video and I'm about to do mine any day now.

Hows the cp3 doing? And how much miles u put on it? Got the industrial injection cp-3 convertion. Always having issues with the aluminum fuel lines leaking. Wish i tried s&s instead. I do hotshot and it really sucks when i gotta deliver a load and they start leaking. The lines are crappy they dont line up like they should, thats why i think they leak. They are good for a few months then start having issues again. Also had a few that started spraying diesel, when i glanced at it there was literally a tiny hole on the aluminum line and diesel just spraying like a water gun. Really dont wanna buy another kitt just because of the lines.

Instead of tape shove a piece of paper in the socket with the bolt. Paper falls out and does not make the fastener or your tool sticky.
