I love everything about this game, I haven't played or even heard of the stalker franchise until it was announced. but I definitely was hooked the moment I saw gameplay. These recoils are better then before, they were pin point precise, now it gets more realistic with the big bang, some auto weapons like SMG are normal to have smaller recoil but real Assault weapons should give big punch !

I'm still a little concerned that we haven't seen crouching, taking cover, leaning out to take pop-shots, etc. These were always engaging and visceral parts of the STALKER combat experience, but in every trailer the PC just stands out in the open firing shots like it's DOOM. I think he crouches once, so maybe it's all still present. Buying it to support them either way.

Why worry about understanding them? I've played STALKER about 9 times start to finish and I've never had a clue what the NPCs are saying and the game wasn't hurt in the slightest for it.

@@Mriya6 It may not be much to those of non-eastern European background, but to those that lived in the former Soviet republic, the games lore, setting and immersion was a godsend. The immersion into the soviet (I am saying soviet, not Ukrainian or Russian) culture is what kept bringing me back. I was born in CCCP and Russian is my second language, so I played it in Russian. I feel like playing it in English would ruin the immersion and disconnect me from the characters, keeping only the gameplay itself (which I've always felt wasn't really all that great). Seeing old buildings the way I remember them from my childhood, hearing the campfire jokes, the old cold-war era bunkers, tunnels etc, there was nothing really quite like it except Metro.

Well, if you already know Russian, you will need about a month or two months, I think? Although Ukrainian differs from Russian in sound, grammar rules, and there are many other words that are not similar to Russian (or words that are obsolete and not used in Russian). But still, I think the usual level of value is enough, and it is reached in a couple of months at most. You can find and watch some Ukrainian KZbinrs or listen to songs in Ukrainian, it can help a lot in understanding the language.

А раз мужик один решил пошутить: вылез тихо из палатки, надел кожаную перчатку и полез к соседям в палатку. Полез, значит, и попрошайничает жалостно: «Водички, водички попить…» А тут из палатки навстречу высовывается рука и за горло его - цап! И сиплый голосок отзывается тихонько: «А тебе моя водичка зачем нужна?!»
