Similar spot at chemical plant station - this time visible but invincible Ward npc with a PKM who kills you in a second. He can't leave the station though. If you encounter them don't try to kill them, just go around, you will visit this place later

Dude, your doin good. Stalker shadow of chernobyl- i died so many times- especially yantar and red forest. Stalker 2 heart of chernobyl, i've been yeeting myself into anomalies and situations left and right testing and learning things to my advantage. I love going into the shards of glass with mutants chasing, cause if you crouch walk in your fine. That big bulba anomaly in Zalissya- i must've died 10-20 times just to that, half out of curiosity and the other to fun. Never feel ashamed at the amount of deaths, unless your trying to do like an iron man run.

Mate. Welcome to The Zone. I've been waiting for this game for fifteen years. I'm savouring this one, wallowing in it. And it was worth waiting for in the opinion of this broken old scavenger. I like to play a FPS behaving as I would if I was actually going to wear a 5.45 if I don't keep my shit together and minimal. I like a game where your carcass and the weather have to be considered as more than just scenery -In The Zone -You Have To. Your comparison to Tarkov is valid, but I'd say it's a Tarkov that more honestly challenges you -rather than a challenge with added: 'You want to do what? Fuck You...' that Tarkov is far too often. Enjoy Shadow Of when you've finished.

unfortunately the gaming industry at large as trained gamers today that "everything you kill / do should have loot reward" & "everything are just easy punching bag for the player". That's not what Stalker is. THIS IS NOT A LOOTER SHOOTER, THIS IS NOT A HERO SHOOTER. I honestly really fed up with people coming into this game and expect the game to work like looter/hero shooter. So please, if you unable to shift your mindset, this is not a game for you. Stalker is about the experience and immersion, it's not about being a hero.
@LordChromeGaming3 күн бұрын
@@nameinvalid69 That’s unfortunately true, anything with a challenge or doesn’t reward you like you busted open a piñata is looked down on. These kinds of games are honestly the best for me.

In fairness, in the very first Stalker game, Shadow of Chernobyl, you could loot body parts from mutants and either cash them in on side quests or sell them to the scientists for a decent profit so it's not an outrageous ask, it was a good system and gave you a reason to engage the mutants rather than just leg it to save ammo. Also sort out your tone, nothing this guy said implied he wants it to be a looter shooter or a hero shooter, seems like you're projecting a bit

I honestly doubt the Metro series would be anywhere near what it was if the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games didn't come out first and inspire so much of it.
@colonel__klink75482 күн бұрын
@@Saved_Sinner0085 They form from similar roots. STALKER is an inversion of the tale "Roadside Picnic", the men called stalkers collecting artifacts that are just a thin allegory for western ideas. Roadside picnic is really a pro Leninist piece, but post Soviet Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl (set in the Soviet Union's last "gift" to Ukraine) inverts this all. Similarly metro explores a post Soviet space only the tragedy is that it... returned to the Soviet ways rather than moving on. This caused the war that ended the world. // Stalker 1 spoilers // Stalker 1 has similar messaging with the gang of 7 essentially being a stand in for Leninism's promise of purging the sins of humanity (Leninism arguing that those sins would vanish as soon as the material benefit of sinning would vanish.) The monolith being those brainwashed into being cannon fodder for the old ways, the Soviets or the Russian Federation ect. In this sense Strelok was a hero for destroying the pods. It's with these in mind that Stalker 2 became fascinating to me. I played the game through just no with the ethos that the zone represents Ukraine and "what if the world just set it free?" Lol not gonna tell you how that worked out... you should experience it...

The *ONLY* complaint i have of the game that might be considered a "difficulty complaint" is that the ending i played (no spoilers) felt padded with extra enemies in sections that just... well it just didn't need to be there. It's like the game kept hinting "this is the finish line!" and then would pull a psyche out. "oh you thought you were done? Here's a bunch of dudes to take up some more time." The troopers special abilities at the end would have been far cooler if I wasn't already frustrated with this.
@LordChromeGaming2 күн бұрын
@@colonel__klink7548 Oh I can see how that can be frustrating. Sounds a lot like how Persona 5 threw in a last final boss and he had like 3-4 different stages I had to fight through.
@schnodderbürstchen2 күн бұрын
agreed. the endgame beyond the point of no return felt a little more like a demo to a classic military shooter game than a stalker game. It got a little annoying to shoot at the same hyperarmored squad of enemies over and over again. And half the boss fights, if you can even call them that are essentially gimmik-fights.
@colonel__klink75482 күн бұрын
@@schnodderbürstchen it's bad because i think a lot of it would feel right earlier. There were DEEP "dungeon" dives in the original. I remember spending 40-50 minutes underground. It may be faulty memory but the sheer horror of the brainscorcher and the ENDLESS hoard really was like that. It was... it was good because you were prepped for it in a way... A lot of those gunfights at the end past the point of no return felt like that, but the thing is the way they set the boss fights the pacing felt exhausting because you felt like this was it every time. This was the big step and resolution and instead there's another 50 minute dive ahead before the next boss fight eeeesssssspecially if you made all the same choices I did in the first playthrough. (side note, i miss the pip that happens whenever a stalker pda gets close. It made growing zombie hoards even scarier because you could just hear it growing.)
