As a monolith member this weapon is invaluable addition to our arsenal. There is nothing like waking up in the place of culture, marching to stadium and simply sweeping away pseudogiants like if they were flies. I myself ended up neglecting other weapons over KS-23, it is trully...wonderfull.

it is buckshot... BUT as said it is not a 12 gauge like normal shotguns but a 4 gauge wich is basically grenade launcher realm, and as a matter of fact this thing can load grenades and be used as a grenade launcher (and that's how the russians use it)

remember, it is a 6.3 american gauge shotgun, 4 gauge in european standards that is made from antiair gun barrels that is designed to shoot down low pass aircraft with a solid 23mm diameter slug (which has enough energy to destroy a V8 engine in one shot). These guns are so op that USA banned them. Also imagine being a big mean bully in prison then getting hit by a bean bag from this monster..... also cultist base is very fitting for the brain scorcher, considering it is a base for the monolith

Just slight corrections, this wasn't meant to shoot low passing aircrafts at all but to "supress" riots in prison. They did use or rather recycle 23mm anti-aircraft barrels, not to shoot aircrafts but because those barrels had manufacturing flaws and were therefore unable to be used in their intended gun; and since shotguns have A LOT less internal pressure than your regular rifle (or here canon) they were deemed to be good enough for the job and it therefore also cost less to build the gun. And this gun wasn't SPECIFICALLY banned because it was op (although 4 gauge does open grenade launcher realm with the right ammo, those ammo would have been banned anyway. Leaving us with a normal shotgun that has more firepower but that is tacticaly objectively worse than a 12 gauge due to the recoil, the ammo capacity, the ammo price and availability, ammo choice and training required to even try to shoot it). It was banned by rules that were already in place -> over 20mm diameter RIFLED barrel (banned). It's not only this gun but any of those guns And third the slug doesn't have enough energy to yeet an engine into nothingness but to pierce it and therefore prevent it from working (which is still impressive don't get me wrong but nothing supernatural) But don't get me wrong I find this thing absolutly amazing, it's just that it's not as a shotgun (because it is not good compared to 12 gauge for most people despite the massive firepower) but as a grenade launcher that can be used as a shotgun

There are a few in the U.S. but basically you have to find Ammo that is literally unobtanium and pay a $200 Tax Stamp for a "Destructive Device" same bullshit law also applies to the SPAS-12 as well even though it's a 12 Gauge. The gun in question is called the BFG 1.

Could be, I take her mostly cuz she's kinda one of the first people you meet, she's one of the few (or maybe only) named npc you can have as a companion and she's the only one who could be described as having some sort of character development, so that's cool

Was always one of my go-to shotguns. It is the most powerful shotty in the game, but you have to have some mods that allow access to the ammo, bc it's rare to find. Besides burers, psydos and chimera, it will 1 tape all other muties.

This is not a gun. This thing is officially considered a cannon since its calliber is more than 20mm. But the abbreviation KS-23 means a Carbine Special - 23 mm. Such is the twist of the Soviet militia. Usefull when the violator of traffic rules is on a tank. Also one of the reasons why people don't joke with the tax service.
