Glad to see that you and the crew of Harvest Mood (Neil/Stingray Harbour Yacht Club) made it! As far as the vid.. this was one of your best in demonstrating the rigors of off shore cruising and trying to predict weather.

Wasn’t sure if the radio was reporting a gale warning or a Gail warning - that could mean either hold fast or run fast.

Great video, nice nod to Eric. I'm assuming not often is the weather this cold so far south. I'm making these passages next dec. I'm hoping for mild temps

It seems this Fall has been particularly cold with much more frequent Nor’easters

Was that a reference to Erik Aanderaa the Viking? Also, anyone have an opinion on Bristol 33.3 vs Sea Sprite 34?

Most definitely a nod to Erik Aanderaa. Sea Sprite 34 is a far superior sailboat. The Bristol probably has a slightly nicer interior.

@@TheCorsair I love watching both you and Erik the Viking. Surprised to hear you say the sea sprite is far superior. Thanks for your reply as I'm studying all I can about sailing.

Rory The Sea Sprite 34 is a fractional rig and the Bristol is mast head. On a fractional rig one derives the majority of power from the large fully battened main which can be sheeted in to the centerline of the boat thus allowing it to point much higher. The keel design on the Sea Sprite 34, while probably not discernible to the naked eye is much more refined, with less wetted surface than the Bristol. Combine these two characteristics and you have a much better sailboat.

@@TheCorsair Excellent thank you!

When did you start sailing in cold weather & cold waters after you started sailing or after you learned to sail? Seems a lot more challenging with being in the elements of cold winds & changing cold sails- give you two kudos! Safe sailing

Well, the Chesapeake Bay and points south aren’t really “cold” waters but it does seem this Fall has been quite a bit more chilly than most. Thanks for watching.
