Great episode! A wonderful turn by the late Sal Mineo as a true psychopath. Hondo is a true hero and man that we never see on tv anymore. Intelligent, strong, compassionate, brave, tough, loyal, kind and a fierce leader of his men and protector of the public and his family. We need male remodels like Hondo on tv now more than ever.

This was fashioned after the Manson gang. The new S.W.A.T. redid this episode in season 3 with the title bad faith. The cult in that one was a mixture of Jonestown, and Heavens Gate.

Yes it’s very tragic and senseless .He was an amazing actor but a blessed soul.Peopke are too focus on the incident or his personal life and not honoring his legacy in a walk of fame or something.Bless his family, friends, fans, and partner.

Sal was also in the first two episodes of Season 2 as a different character which would have been Sept or so of 75. After re-watching the whole series a couple of times, quite a few actors make double dips in Season 1&2.

@@rodneyhext8870 yes he was a Charlie Manson type in season 1 and an Suba diver criminal in the two part episode.I enjoy his tv appearances but wish he was given more opportunities instead of being frequently typecast as the bad person either due to his age or sexual orientation.He would have been great in the godfather.RIP Sal you are dearly missed🇮🇹🏳️‍🌈🎬
