Loved my P238 but as you said in your video its design/controls felt antiquated but its small size made it a keeper for a long time. I'm looking forward to your 365-380 vs BG 2.0 video.

Love by BG 2.0!! Almost 300rds in and it’s been perfect. Gonna sell the LCP MAX ELITE just after I put $100 of mods in it. I do have several complaints, but the BG2 is by far my favorite new gun since the P365 first came out. The rear sight notch is too wide-I know it’s fast but it’s hard at distance. I swear it shoots left but I know it could be all of us. The trigger guard is a hair small, and the mag-release sticks out a bit much for a gun that’s not gonna be needed extended mag-release for fast mag changes (and though I only use kydex, the soft holster folks may see it drop mags). Love the size and capacity and ergos.
@scottnewton66843 ай бұрын
@@jedcoupland8587 I thought it shot left as well when I fired mine but after adjusting my index finger and concentrating on the front sight it’s the user, not the gun. At least that was the case with me. I think with these small guns and average to large hands your index finger has the tendency when squeezing the trigger ever so slightly pull the gun to the left.
@Th3BaconNation3 ай бұрын
All thin guns I pretty much shoot left with my natural grip due to how I don't get a straight trigger pull with how the gun sits in my hand. With my "thin gun grip" and my form not all skrunched up, I'm usually pretty well on target at that point. Slowing down also helps. I gotta remember to slow it down a little in the range parts today.

I’ve got a Springfield Armory 911, a direct competitor to the P238. It is extremely reliable as long as you clean it every 100 rounds. Great firearm. Unfortunately, it was discontinued a couple years ago. The Sig P238 was discontinued this year. The only all metal “micro M1911”-style firearm still in production today is the Kimber Micro .380. Like the Sig P238, it is pretty expensive. Admittedly, the micro M1911 .380 class of firearms initiated by the Colt Mustang back in the 1980s is not very appealing to the current market. I think they’re great but I guess that makes me fuddly. Oh well…

Hasn't that 911 had been discontinued for a couple years now too? I've never seen one on a local store shelf. Its one we'd probably buy if we saw it and the price was fair. The two tone CA version of the P238 might be the last P238 left, but it was hard for me to say one way or the other.
@TheRobman1393 ай бұрын
@@Th3BaconNation Yes, I did mention that in my original comment. It’s a shame, too, as they were only introduced in 2018. I got mine that year, the original version, and I’ve got at least 2000+ rounds through it so far. After an initial 300 round break-in period it has been flawlessly reliable as long as I keep it clean (every 100 rounds). It was my exclusive EDC for more than two and a half years. I have other options now, but I still carry it sometimes, especially when I’m on a road trip, or when discretion is top priority.

Purchased the BG2.0 brought it home cleaned it, and then adjusted the rear sight (all this prior to first shots) took it to the range ran 100 rounds no issues and it shot on point, I’m not an expert marksman but I do good, and only went out to 10 yards. Once companies start making sights for this I will 100% get rid of the original ones.

Does it shoot smoother and more accurate than the P238??@@kobudo
@kobudoАй бұрын
@@kevinrichardson8859 That’s a very good question, and a difficult one for me to answer. While I don’t keep great track of the round counts on my firearms, I have only put about 200 rounds through the Bodyguard 2.0 on two brief range trips due to work, life, and the kiddo going back to school. My P238 has easily eaten well over a case by itself over the years, and wears a set of G2 grips with a shape and texture that I really like. I believe that both firearms are more mechanically accurate than I can shoot them. I enjoy shooting both of them very much, and they are both very smooth shooters. Though they do achieve that smoothness in different ways. They have very distinct “feels” from each other, but I don’t think I could call a clear winner even after shooting them back to back. And if I feel that way with a clear difference in time on the two platforms, I think that says something for the gun I’m less familiar with. Where there is a clear winner is in EDC, though. The Bodyguard 2.0 carries lighter, even when you add the weight of 23 rounds between two mags and the chamber vs. 15 rounds in the P238’s two seven rounders plus one. But shooting them at the range? For me it’s too close to call.

With the new high capacity magazines with the skinny single stack top, will the Micro 1911 guns get a grip redesign to accommodate the wider base? Think Sig P938 X-wide that takes P365 magazines. Slightly thicker grip might improve handling. A good shooting metal frame pistol is always more collectable than a polymer one.

Only to some. I have both from way back and still love and carry my Sig P238 daily. I will be getting the BG 2.0 down the road because I think it's going to be easy to carry, but IMO, S&W took way to long to fix that POS trigger system on the original for me to run out and search one down. That thing sucked big time and everyone's excuse for it, "Oh it's a carry gun" Yeah, what's the point. Carry guns should have the perfect trigger to aid in shot placement, not slop and hope to hit a vital. Anyway, the striker fired guns are getting much better, but the single action trigger is still on top IMO vs any striker fired option out there; the only one close IMO is the Sig P365. JMO, YMMV
