I love my M&P 9L M2.0 so much that I compete in Steel challenge with a mostly bone stock gun. I changed the sights to Truglow TFO for faster sight acquisition. The trigger improves dramatically after a few hundred rounds and cleaning. While not as good as my wife's G1 M&P Pro Comp 9 that I put an Apex into, it is a damn good trigger IMHO. Keep up the good work and great reviews.

I was at a Gun Shop a while back. I saw and bought my first 40cal, A M&P 40cal Police Trade in for $267.49 total cost. Great Condition. The Trigger must had some work done for the police department. I love it. I feel like I stole it. I don't need a 2.0.

The polymer trigger shoe from apex ($37) and running 1200 rounds through mine has smoothed it up big time and the shoe feels so much better than the stock hinges trigger. For those balling on a budget like myself.

Any weirdness in installing the trigger shoe? The hinge on the trigger is what bothers me, not the actual action. So just the shoe makes more sense for me.

@@Grevlain If installing in a 2.0, make sure you also install at the very least the Apex 2-dot sear, otherwise it won't work. The upgraded sear is the catalyst that allows it to function properly. It's not required for the 1.0.

This is 2021 and just watching this video. Recently got a M&P 2.0 compact optics ready, no safety. Put 800 rounds thru it so far and love it. I wanted to break it in before making any changes, just to make sure. I do NOT like the hinged trigger. I'm thinking Apex is the way to go. I have a couple of Holosun red dots and am satisfied with them so probably go that way, as well. Your videos are always top notch quality and no BS info. Appreciate your time in doing these.

One of your recent videos talked me into purchasing the Walther Q5 match. I needed a cheaper pistol too shoot. My Glock 20 was getting expensive fast, I still love the best millimeter ( 10mm ) but the 9 almost feels like a 22 compared too the big 10, especially out of a longer compensated gun. Very happy with the purchase. Thank you Honest Outlaw. P.s. our state just passed a maximum mag capacity on rifles and handguns so the Springfield XD, Glock 34 and S&W M&P 2.0 we're out of the picture.... Well at least in 9mm

I went with the flat forward set on my carry gun with the heaviest spring combo. It can actually be made heavier than the Duty Carry kit plus the bonus (if you like them) of the flat trigger.

Great video Honest Outlaw! Been a fan for years! Just bought a brand new 2.0 Compact. Going to run it in IDPA CCP and I think it should dominate over the Glock 19 (because I hate Glock triggers and polygonal rifled barrels) Keep up the awesome work!

They're excellent out of the box...Especially now in the "M2.5" guise with the new trigger, front serrations, and Optics Ready cut. However, if you want to take an M&P to the absolute head of the line. 2 places. Apex Tactical, FLoyd's Customs. With 1-200$ in extras...You'll have very near, if not the best striker fire "duty" style weapon on the market IMO.

IMHO, the two best aftermarket triggers for the S&W M&P M2.0 series are: 1. Overwatch Precision TAC aluminum alloy trigger 2. Timney Alpha aluminum alloy trigger I like both of these triggers more than the Apex Tactical triggers, in my M&P M2.0 pistols. Good things! 👍

Spot on on the M&P vs the PPQ. I love both but the PPQ has no texture and is slippery and somehow shoots like a 40 in 9mm. The M&P has great stippling and shoots soft but doesn’t have the trigger. PPQ trigger in an M&P and you’d have the best striker gun available.

Have fun getting the 2.0 front sight off? I had to clamp mine to a 2x4 & beat it out with a steel punch. Finally got the trijg HD’s on though & they are spectacular, and definately wedged to allow Assy from the right to left, as are the stock SW sights.

I have a wheeler sight tool. Even with that, I think breaking free the factory front sight on my shield is probably the most unnerving gunsmithing process I've done. S&W doesn't mess around with M&P front sights.

Smith needs to come out with a 2.0 double stack sub compact now. Glock gives us every option. M&P always seems to only cover two thirds of the picture.

They put out the 3.6" compact which is still 15rds HOWEVER it is the same size exactly as the Glock 26 w/ the +2 mag extension. It is a pretty cool offering and fills that gap imo.

It is out I have one and it is great. The reason they waited is because it makes their 3.6" compact obsolete cause of the included magazine sleeves. I run mine with a 12 round flush mag loaded with 147gr Winchester RangerOne.

I just watched this video. I agree that the S&W M&P lineup is fantastic, except for the trigger. I will be replacing the trigger on 2.0 40 S&W with the Apex flat face for reasons of comfort and pull. I think that S&W should put their flat face triggers in all of their pistols. When it comes to the comfort part, that small curved one on their 2.0 digs into my finger. Is it possible that the issue is the placement of my finger on the trigger, maybe. I even tried it with gloves on, and it was still an issue. The trigger on my Shield 9 Plus Performance Center is a much better trigger. One would think that with the Apex flat faced trigger sales, that S&W would start selling their trigger as a separate item, or include that as an option with their “build your own” option on their website.

Oh the good ole days, O-light were $50 bucks, a 1000 rds of 9mm was $149 with your rebate, used Glocks were $289. Gun part were half the price which they are now. people were begging you to buy stuff. Palmetto state armory was affordable!! now their AR's are higher in price then Ruger, S&W, Springfield. and everything was in stock!! you didnt have to wait 48 days for a Magpul QD sling ..... oh yes the ole days

Is there a safety delete? I love my m2.0 but the safety on it is HUGE. I wouldn’t mind it if it was like the small shield safety but I feel it’s too big. What can be done about that?

I run the exact same sights and I love the apex triggers. The FSS triggers really does make it feel very 1911 like. However, I think it is very poor advice to run a trigger like that without a thumb safety. All that “my brain” “my finger” my whatever is my safety is great until you have a ND when re holstering under stress or when you are distracted that 1 time out of 10000. That scene in Black Hawk Down....never happened. There is a reason no one runs 1911s without thumb safeties.

First thing I'd change is running some very fine grit ( 2000 or so ) wet/dry sandpaper over that grip texture. It feels like 60 grit sandpaper and is pretty abrasive against my skin when carrying.

I'm confused--why would having a light on a gun interfere with operation in any way? I have an FN 509 tactical with a light and Agency Compensator and I've never had a problem. Not sure how the light fits in to it in terms of causing issues?

It can make it shoot low on certain guns like Glocks. The weight causes it to make you pull lower and can make the gun nose dive

Right out of the box the 2.0 trigger is actually pretty good, better than a Glock I think. The first gen m&p trigger definitely sucks though lol
