My late Dad was a Norden lad born and bread, more relevant to the vlog, he was in 1 para, and was captured at Oostebeek, Arnhem. I went there last year, a slightly emotional couple of days. He always was my hero and, always will be! ☺.

I know the feeling, my grandad was killed at Anzio, i went there with my Dad.... some tears was shed that day, very emotional. I intend to do a series of videos riding to Anzio with some of my dads ashes to put with his dad. Probably 2025 though, ive already used up next years holidays from work lol need a lottery win 👍

I'm well retired so, I do what I want. Anzio was another military balls up, just like Arnhem. I mentioned it a few times to my dad about visiting Arnhem but, he wasn't interested, I don't think he really wanted to relive it.

Just before the 14:00 you passed the famous spot where Band of Brothers, part of the Crossroads episode played. I live in this region and every where is WW2 history around. It was front region for 6 months here ....

Holland and Belgium are fantastic places for people interested in war history, so much to see and not enough time. But we can always visit again 👍 I cant speak for other British guys, but i find it interesting mainly because Britain doesn't have as many World War 1 or 2 sites, obviously because we wasn't invaded like other countries thankfully. As sad as some of the stories behind the battles are, i still think they are very interesting.

Nice to see our dutch country trough the eyes of a English man. In Oosterbeek a village near Arnhem there is a famous but small museum about the fights and situation during the ww2 called airborn museum.

The Netherlands is a beautiful place and somewhere i will definitely be visiting again. Sadly on this trip i was just passing through, i would like to explore your country properly 👍

G'Day mate we are enjoying your trip for that used to be home 53 years ago. I was explaining to the wife that you are visiting 11 countries and 2500 miles she say,s what that is from here to Sydney one way for we live in the tropics in a place called Townsville. Well the place is very pretty and I used to live in schiedam bat that is to long ago to remember. Well you have a safe trip and look after yourself.

G'Day Mate 👍 its only when you put it like that i realise how big Australia is. Would love to ride around the full coast of Australia, would take months 😊 Schiedam is right in the port area of Rotterdam, probably a lot different now than 53 years ago. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video 👍

Did you see the steps under the John Frost bridge. They're the originals and the bullet damage is still clearly visible. History that's easily missed.

Yea its a very thought provoking area, i wish i had more time to spend walking around as there seemed to be a lot of history there.

My late father who was a teen during the war said once to that he was always amazed that people volunteerd to get there head blown of in a strang country . Never forget he told me ,that people like that excist
