Thank you for getting into this. There is a real struggle to get this working and the guides to this are very light. Getting into a true model with DEP and VPP control is an essential part of getting into the "blackberry BES" type of control of yesteryear.

I agree. Hopefully Steve and the crew will dive deeper into the setup

Looking forward to the follow-up video's. We are starting this month with ABM MacBooks and Intune integration so any tips and tricks are much appreciated!

Very excited about this one. ABM, or Apple School Manager in my case, seems to be a missing link for a lot of admins trying to manage Apple devices. I've been meaning to get myself an ABM account to blog/demo some Power Apps for onboarding the devices. Sounds like it was annoying to do...

probably going to be a stupid question. but for someone managing several clients with a bunch of iphones. does each client need to go through the process of setting up a ABM account? or as an MSP can you register your own business and add sub accounts (clients). thanks!!

Would be awesome to get your thoughts on structuring groups for both DEP'd(COPE) Devices and BYOD(MDM). Group Structure for both VPP Apps available to Users, Making Apps required to Devices and if the available VPP app groups will resemble SCCM Software Deployment groups Awesome videos as well!

I am new to mobile management via intune.. Can't we enroll cooperate device iOS via cooperate identifier? I think you should present something that starts from the scatch.. And then goes to ABM.

I have several iPads in our fleet of devices, that I'd like to add to Apple Business Manager. They are already deployed to end users. How would I go about adding them to ABM?
@IntuneTraining2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to say you will need to flash them using a macOS with apple Configurator 2, and import them into ABM at the same time

one major thing is that users with these apple id's can't access to App Store. IMHO I would like to seen this over two ESP. 1st setup ABM and Intune, app buying and syncing, second I would like see Federated Authentication

Can you add Macos into the apple business manager with configratir2? Whats the other options if not?
@IntuneTraining3 жыл бұрын
Today you need to buy the macOS device pre-registered into ABM, in the coming months apple have made the statement that you will be able to macOS via apple Configurator 2 from and iOS device.

If you turn on federation you'll be entering into the world of managed Apple IDs. That's a world you may not want to enter. Managing IDs sucks. Also I would compare ABM to not just MS Store but Autopilot as well. What Autopilot is to Windows, ABM (formerly known as DEP) is to macOS.

You'll be entering into the world of managed Apple IDs but since those identities are already being managed from Azure, it really doesn't suck, IMO.

is ABM expensive ?
@IntuneTraining Жыл бұрын
Free so long as you have a DUNS number which is the complicating factor

@@IntuneTraining Yikes. Im trying to get this setup asap. One of our main problems is not having vpp licensed email accounts for signing into apple store to download and update applications for the users. As some users use third party apps. Is there a way to do this with out abm ? I also notice that with intune you need abm to push and patch updates to devices and apps?
