I'm only worried about the whole adoption process but this video kind of illustrated what I would have to prepare myself for. Vasanthi's story is heartbreaking indeed but I'm so PROUD of her and where she is in her life now as someone who met her personally. She's the kindest hairdresser I've been to :')

Such an interesting conversation!!! A future episode could maybe explore more topics about the subject such as how Sri Lanka has commercialised adoption and taken advantage of birth mothers (eg. Baby farms). Thank you for the education!

Great episode! I love the content - and I agree 100% with Avanthi on how adoption is overlooked by the romanticization of motherhood, hence making adoption the last resort. I have a question though - does this mean that adoption is not possible for a couple by choice? As in, can a couple still adopt in SL even when they are biologically able to become parents, but choosing to adopt?
