Listening to this while eating breakfast & now cannot eat because cannot stop crying.... when you talked about remembering a time when you felt loved, I was searching my memories & remembered how a friend years ago helped me when I was literally losing my mind. She took me to her home & made potato soup because she knew how the brain chemicals are affected by certain foods etc... she knew exactly how to interact with me. She didn't try to 'fix me' she just let me rest in her home & as I am remembering how kind she was to me at a time when I was so in need.... I cannot stop crying.... it's like I'm seeing it for the first time for what it was & this was in 1999.... yet it's like I never fully received her love & kindness until today... this is so odd. I also see God's hand in what she did for me & feel He was loving me through her. I must have had all this blocked inside but it's releasing today. So thanks again for making these videos. I for one, have been touched.

As a recovering people pleaser, i find it difficult when I make a mistake or trusting anyone. Im the 10th kid, crippled until my parents could afford for me to get braces. Every time I stood up for myself I got in trouble. my older siblings think its ok to talk down to me. One of my mantra's is I don't fit in. I had a very harsh inner critic & outer critic, one being my grandmother & the outter being my siblings. Wow God is doing a number in me. WHewwwww. He does love me warts and all.(still learning this).

This video is spot on! The Roots of Rejection come up in so many diffrent ways. Its easy to project our own “stuff” on other people rather than take personal responsibility for issues. Not an easy “pill” to swallow for many of us. We attract others into our life that are as emotionally healthy as we are. As we grow, develop and allow Gods love into our heart (this takes time) we attract healthier friends and walk in more joy and peace.

I am sorry to hear that you were condemned for that was the opposite of why Jesus founded His church. We are all sinners just in different ways and at different times and we all desperately need Jesus and Gos visible body of His church on earth. You were not meant to struggle alone for satan wants to keep you isolated so that you cannot experience God’s love through others and come to healing. Please consider trying other church’s knowing that this is your right as a child of God. If any others reject you, do not make it personal about you but rather acknowledge the truth of the sinfulness of humanity and as a result of their inability to love as Jesus does. Do not stop trying. God will reward your perseverance for He has many faithful children who have taken the time to allow Him to replace their hearts of stone with His pure and holy heart and it is they whom He will use to walk with you on your journey into His healing heart. I send you a hug from deep within my heart and soul where Jesus lives. Know that He and His love is already with you. Praying that you can finally be able to see and feel enough to receive it.

Question: Background first and to the point: My parents were both alcoholics, one a narcissist. I've been through 2 divorces, realizing now when looking back and processing the mess of my relationships that I was ill equipped in my younger years to even chose rightly the correct person to be in a relationship with, which set the relationships up for failure. Both husbands were unfaithful, the first re-married, the second hasn't but lives a lascivious life. I feel 2 things: 1. Sad because I am disqualified from remarrying, and 2. Sad because I really was set up for failure because of my upbringing, and will (likely) never love and be loved in a marriage like what God had designed it to be. (I think being in a loving relationship was stolen from me.) How shall I process this and not have a rejection mindset? Is there even such a thing?
@marktdejesus5 жыл бұрын
I find there are many layers of allowing God to heal rejection roots in our life. It takes time and patience to let love have a deep work. Growing up with alcoholics or narcissists will shatter our references for love, which take time to heal. The good news is that God's mercy and love is new this morning to meet you where you are to take the next step.
@lynnv85015 жыл бұрын
@@marktdejesus right. I'm morning deeply the loss of love. Hopefully I voiced myself well enough so that you see my point, which is, biblically speaking I shall not remarry. Which adds a certain level of pain. The unloved become unlovable. I know Jesus breaks the chains for indeed He has. But I shall not have a husband again. This has serious implications.
@lynnv85015 жыл бұрын
@Lexie It's very hard to not do what your subconscious mind is trained to do. I hope you don't mind me giving you advice, but I may never talk to you again. I have only one chance with you to try to make it so that you don't fall into the traps like I did. If I had to do it over again, I would not only walk with God daily, abide in His word, but I would go to church so that the chances of meeting the wrong people would be slimmed down, as I am sure there are narcissists there too. Then I would by all means get marital counseling before marrying, and never give out sex to get love. Last thing I would do is not give of my time or money unless someone proved themselves to me first. I know there's more, but this is a start. I did EVERYTHING wrong, and am paying the price now. Satan kills, steals, and destroys. This is what you want to be on the watch out for, because he'll do it to you too.

How about a counselor who asks you dis-empowering questions such as "do you feel depressed or anxious" about xyz or "are you disappointed" that xyz "does it make you feel let down" when you weren't even thinking that or feeling anything on that heavy a level on the spectrum. And am starting to notice a pattern of this type of questions or similarly statements made by this "counselor." I protest respectfully and get an apology but seems still to no avail. At first i was just feeling very confused about all of this. Now I am starting to think that continuing to converse and share with this person is not good for my health and well being.

Could part of the problem be that what we believe is what we receive? If we believe we are always going to broken then we will be. It becomes our expectation instead of being complete in Him as the word says.
@ForhisGlory-rb6os Жыл бұрын
Root of prevention to break through- rejection! - easy to deny - lots of layers of rejection, our lens! Be kind to yourself! - it’s process oriented! No easy quick - love is who god is, who I am - god changes us via relationships, rejection take root Wherever love hasn’t taken work- rejection invades! Distort love, or block it! Aspect you need to operate from! Gotta put on a presentation! - gotta deal with root! Not symptom! Father relationships! Distorted Don’t feel loved, feel they need to get in Bible to get closer, or be heavily busy! Pressure to put on something: rejection! Don’t need that to be loved!

“Can you easily experience gods unconditional love on a ongoing basis? Feel and experience. Hi Mark and Melissa! Thank you so much for all the content you provide. It is much appreciated! Question - I am reading through your book Exposing the Rejection Mindset. I just read chapter 15 about authority figures, and how you wrote about not seeing change until you humbled yourself under the authority of authority figures/pastors/seasoned people. I am on a journey of overcoming anxiety, OCD type thinking, and this caused anxious thinking to rise up, as I currently feel like I’m in an area of my life where I feel like I’m being pruned. I don’t have many close people to my life, authority figures/seasoned people that I need to humble myself to. I attend a church: it is very clique-y, and it seems hard to develop relationships with anyone unless you’re “in”. Please tell me I can still see breakthrough and change in my life!

Hi Courtney, if you are feeling anxious or OCD about it, don't do anything. My heart is to encourage people to welcome healthy leadership input, but don't allow pressure to accuse you or condemn you if its not avaialble right now. I know what you are feeling. God knows your heart and that you want to welcome great relationships. Be at peace, knowing you are in process.

Mark DeJesus Thank you! I want more than anything to walk through these issues and overcome. Your material has been so beneficial! I think sometimes I assume all the information applies to me right now, when that may not be the case which in turn fuels anxiety/wrong kinds of thinking. In my journey, I am currently learning to receive God’s love - not performing for it, or having to do anything to achieve it.. and to be grounded in my identity as a daughter of God, which will all cast out fear. Bless you and Melissa!! It is such a relief to hear a story of someone else’s previous mental battles and know I am not alone. And to know there is hope, and God wants to heal me of these issues and walk me through this journey.

Courtney K, The Great Physician is absolutely the primary "authority" we need. I love reading that you are learning to accept God's love for you. Pastor Dan Mueller is a good KZbin source to encourage people to find their value and identity in Christ alone. Now that my rejection issues have surfaced, I’m having trouble dealing with experiencing the deep pain of a lifetime of suppressing it. I feel so vulnerable and weak. How do you deal with that?

Have you considered taking it to our healing, loving Father? Maybe get Mark's book? Blessings!

Wherever Love is absent Rejection comes in. The Enemy knows this and wants to keep you from receiving God Love to have emotional healing from Him.

Believe you me, I would walk miles on my *knees* if i could get a total and instant healing to what has plagued me from my uterine life onward by touching Christ's garment (like the woman with the blood issue). Satan is not lying to me, Christ cannot heal me. Or if he does, it will be partial, and something will happen that will reactivate all the old wounds, the shame etc. The way God set things up is that he decreed a bad life for some of us so that loving and trusting him will be almost impossible. I truly hate God, and one of the sources of that hate is that he snatched me from the bliss of nonexistence for a life in which he *knew* I was going to get crushed, humiliated and trampled underfoot, and that he would not come through powerfully at no point to put me on a different trajectory. Oh I did notice how he has extravagantly blessed some of my enemies. One of them moved to Fla, became well-off, was featured on a local newspaper in an article *Top 40 under 40* I can assure you that if he had my skills, talents, IQ, learning capacities he wouldn't have *dreamed* of achieving what God's blessings allowed him to accomplish. There is nothing that God would do for or to me that would give me the self confidence or the outlook on life that this guy had at 14 even if I lived another century. God does not give a rat's ass about my heart, my happiness, if I enjoy being alive, God wants to get something, he wants people to look at me and glorify him for the wonderful work he's done in me. Decades of misery doesn't faze him one bit, he is laser focused on getting glory. If you want a happy life, you need health and wealth, if you are willing to settle for a crummy, inferior life but with God alongside you, go with Christ. People want to be happy, wake up and be excited about, Christ could not care any less about that. And in that, Satan is not lying.
