Wow I remember sat with my late mam and dad watching this every week, I was 9 years old when this was aired thanks for the upload and the memory compared to today I wish it was 1974 again it wasn't perfect but a hell of a lot simpler then and people were a lot happier and healthier.

Barely a weekend goes by now when I don’t yearn for a return to the 70s. I’d just turned 12 with not a care in the world. Brilliant music, TV etc. people were great and all of my family were still alive.

I remember it was always on Monday evenings about 9.00, and I am the only one left from my family who watched it. So much better in the Robert Robinson/Frank Muir/Paddy Campbell era. Arthur Marshall was uite good too

I went from 9 to 19 in the 70s and the times, though never perfect of course, had a comforting regularity and things were simpler and in many ways, better for it. Tbh, at my age now, I'd be very comfortable going back to any era pre Tony Blair. 1996 was the last great year we had. .

@@spanishpeaches2930 I quite agree and it looks as if in 2024 we will have the Plastic Poundland Blair tribute band led by Starmer... ?-(

How TV has drastically declined in class since this show . Entertaining, informative & funny. Harmless . Now people actually watch shows like The View!

My late mum loved Call My Bluff. She and I would watch every week. Simple format, but effective. Muir and Campbell were great Captains.

Arthur Marshall took over from Patrick Campbell, and was equally endearing, especially when he had one of his chuckling fits. Happy days!

Oh yes - a MUCH much much better Britain! I was so proud to be British back then. Those times are gone, never to return, sadly.

Gosh it's decades since I last watched this. Really wonderful, simple format. Doubt it'd get past the beeb in 2023.

Wonderful, wonderful television. Intelligent, witty and played by true celebrities in every sense. BBC has truly lost the plot since these era.

Classic TV when it was worth watching and catered to the general public , before it became an indoctrination tool as it is today Loved this show , educational also

I think this was Golden Period Call My Bluff, the early 70s. It was rather adult content for a 9 year old me, and I didnt quite get the innuendos, but the laughter was infectious all the same. Learning new words appealed to me, but the hidden subtext concerned deceiving people with realistic sounding lies, or the art of bullshitting, so perhaps I absorbed a useful skill after all.

An intelligent celebrity panel game. Impossible in the current era.

Just a slightly more cerebral forerunner of Would I Lie To You, both great shows in very different ways.

Gyles Brandreth and Victoria Coren would be great team captains if made today. Not sure who would present it though. Michael Portillo perhaps?

They'd be great team captains. Maybe the presenter could be Stephen Fry .

The BBC at its most patrician. Still enjoyable, nonetheless.

I donno - seems like they are all bluff on this show. I mean wheres the staples of good entertainment like cat fights and constant arguments and drama queening for attention. Theres not even a hint of POC or LGBTQRST etc and the intellegence level required is way to high for this to be entertaining... If it were 1974 I'd switch over to ITV.
