1960 represents the United Kingdom's year of back-channel negotiations and covert chess-game moves, all designed to block Southern Cameroons from advocating the "3rd question" on the plebiscite: that of unconditional independence

Thank you for sharing this important video of how Ambazonia got into the current mess. PLENTY of blame to go around! Very thoroughly researched and presented! Will you share the script/history in print?

Thank you, John. Indeed, some will be surprised to learn that the roots of the "Anglophone Problem" go this far back. Following the loss of the United Kingdom's preferred candidate (Dr. Endeley) in the 1959 Southern Cameroons Premiership elections, the UK came up with the idea of a plebiscite for Southern Cameroons as a way to overturn the election results and still eventually integrate Southern Cameroons with Nigeria. The UK heavily influenced the United Nations in March 1959 to limit the number of questions on the future plebiscite to just 2. In October 1959, in disregard of the freely expressed wishes of the people, the UK again heavily influenced the UN to define the two questions of "achieving independence by joining Nigeria or Cameroun". Finally, the UK spent 1960 blocking the option of "independence" so as to increase the chances of the plebiscite going in favor of 'joining Nigeria'. And thus was born the 'Southern Cameroons' problem that turned into the 'Anglophone Problem' that today, sadly, is a conflict with so many lives lost, and people displaced, in jails...

John - yes, all the materials (book references, documents etc...) are online at goo.gl/sDbthq. Navigate to "Episode Collaterals" then "Episode 6" and you'll find the script. We'll be making available all previous episode's scripts in the coming days.

Holy Cow! Thank you for all your research! It must have taken years to compile so much! Very well done and organized! I'd love to talk for a few mins if possible. Please give me an idea when we might do that. JC
