On our drive from Shingwedzi to Mopani Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park we stopped to eat our toasted sandwiches which we bought at the camp before leaving. Although rustic looking, they surprised us with their deliciousness. The drive was a scenic adventure, unveiling a diverse array of wildlife and captivating landmarks, including the awe-inspiring Red Rocks shaped over millennia. Our time at Mopani, spanning two days, provided the ideal respite. The breathtaking view of Pioneer Dam from the viewpoint in camp added a touch of serenity to our stay. Embracing the South African tradition, we enjoyed the fun of preparing a breakfast on the skottel, which kept us sustained for the duration of the day. Mopani Rest Camp offered the perfect retreat, and we departed with fond memories of the stunning scenery and incredible wildlife. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #krugernationalpark #mopani #dustbugstravel #pioneerdam

Been there as a guest with the official opening. The then warden at Mooiplaas Kobus Botha was mauled by a lion just below the restaurant when it was built. Luckily he recovered well.

Hi you two! What a stunning trip again! I will keep feeling jealous of you until I get there myself. Maybe I'll wait out the summer before I go. Shingwedzi is out of this world with its peacefulness, all its views and comfort. Enjoy the next days, and keep safe!

Mopani, IMO one of the best camps in Kruger. The last classic Kruger style camp to be built. Wildlife can be scarce, but plenty of elephants, also rare roan antelope. Camp used to be called Pionier when it opened. Mopani sounds better.

Thank you for NOT putting music over the sounds of the bush. People who do that just don't get it.

Quite agree Mike. It infuriates me when You Tubers do that. Especially when it is nothing more than a thumping noise. I'm glad Curtis doesn't.
