Can the rangers have that injured lion checked out to see if they can help him. Or do they not interfere at all?
@DustBugsTravel
@DustBugsTravel Сағат бұрын
Rangers won't interfere unless any form of wildlife is suffering as a result of human acts, like snares, vehicle accidents, arson, etc. SANParks believes in letting nature takes its course and, as sad as it may be at times, I do agree with them. That old lion was clearly very old and struggling to walk and move around as a result. 😥🦁

We've watched this in Hong Kong tonight, a few weeks after returning from SA and it was wonderful to see such an abundance of wildlife! We're also budget travellers like yourselves and it does save a lot by making one's own food! The storm towards the end looked rather scary, though, and I don't think we'd ever stay in a tent! Good to know there was no serious damage! Did you shoot all footage with your Samsung S23 ultra?

Greetings to you in Hong Kong! I hope you had a fantastic trip to our beautiful country. 😍🇿🇦 I'm happy to see you're travelling with us through our favourite place on this planet. Every day was such a huge blessing and we have so many fond memories of our recent trip through Kruger. That storm though! 😨 It was wild and super scary, but I do believe an unusually strong wind. Those tents are very strong though, so I think you could consider it without worries if you ever plan on visiting Skukuza on a budget. 🏕️ I always film all our footage with my Samsung S22 Ultra cellphone. I'm happy with the quality. 📲

Dingaan murdered his brother, Tsaka, to become king. Then he murdered Piet Retief and company, after inviting them to his kraal. Then he murdered several Trekker encampments at night. More than 500 Trekkers were murdered. One reason for the failed Zulu attack was that some warriors was still getting their dupa from the sangoma, to make them invincible. Four days after Blood River. The Trekkers visited Dingaan's kraal. Only to find it deserted and burnt down. There was about 30,000 Zulus at Blood River. Dingaan was then murdered by his own nephew. Nothing ever changes. 64 wagons and 464 Boers. So about seven persons per wagon?

It's pronounced St Colum-Kill. I worked in this area and stayed in this school hostel. Next time you need to go a bit further and find Enon... the beautiful little Moravian mission village close to Kirkwood. Incredibly beautiful. Similar to Genadendal with a similar history. Dont miss it...although the road is a severe challenge! Hopefully improved since i was last there 5 years ago

Someone here mentioned the plane replica you saw wasn't a British Spitfire but a German Messerschmitt, which got me to thinking. I wanted to know the differences between the German Messerschmitt and the Dutch Fokker planes and, thanks to Google, I found some interesting information which I thought might be of interest to you too.... "The Messerschmitt Bf-109 and Fokker D-XXI were in fact different types of fighters. The German plane was a high speed interceptor rather than a dog-fighter whereas the Fokker was a dog-fighter all along."

Wow! Another blast from the past. Having had a father who was an avid fisherman, as a child I often used to accompany him to Jim Fouche Resort (sadly now totally derelict I am led to believe from a 2020 report) on weekends, travelling from Johannesburg to Oranjeville after school on a Friday afternoon. My last visit to the beautiful resort was in 1972. I have many fond memories of the place. What an awesome private collection housed in The Hangar. I could have spent the entire day there. Lovely drone footage of the holiday town on the Vaal Dam.

Dutch skies over Oranjeville, hoe toepasselijk!

Sandstone is similar to The Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland when the lave came up too fast and cooled quickly thus forming octagon structures.
