Good video. I used that puller tool on my 57 Plymouth differential. I used a rattle gun on the puller nut. It worked great. I also left the castle nut on to protect the thread, and so the drum didn't fly off.

Thank you! Great info! Question, is there anything special to do when replacing the drum back onto the rear?

Hey GoFar. Good video. I didn't bother messing around with the original rear axle in my Fargo. It is geared too low for my liking. I removed it and replaced it with a rear axle from a 1992 GMC Jimmy. The wheels were a bit narrower with the Jimmy rear axle so I used a 1 1/2" wheel spacer on the spindles to even the wheels out. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁

I have heard to keep nut on sometimes when it breaks free it will fly . Story's of a few feet even across a shop . Watching you tighten up the puller it will build up a lot of spring force before it breaks free

A guy I knew had a '55 Chrysler and he refused to mess with it so he put a complete rear axle from a '57 Ford under it and had a driveshaft shop redo the drive shaft. Has the same bolt pattern as the Chrysler and a close rear axle gear ratio.

I have a 1948 Packard where I need to remove the rear brake drum. Where did you get the drum removal tool from?

I picked mine up at Dodge Central of Michigan. I have also seen them on Amazon and a few other locations. Just try searching "Hub Puller" or "Drum Puller". Definitely a must have tool for any pressed on drums. dcmclassics.com/tools-and-accessories/571-tl-1018-hub-puller.html
