I think the Russians weren’t friendly to Noraly because Putin’s regime has villianized non-Russian Europeans because of the majority of EU nations don’t recognize Russia’s bullying of Ukraine and quasi-occupation of some of its territory, which at time included eastern areas of Donbas and Crimea.

Regarding the Russian bikers , its not that they are not friendly,. its just their nature to be very reserved until they know you better , usually if you just pass small talk they loosen up and will become some of your best friends given time . They almost always look knd of glum or miserable but its just normal for them , its the same in Ukraine , some look the same way but you talk to nthem and they are very friendly and helpful . if she had had the time to drink coffee with them i think her impression would have been different but hopefully she will meet other Russians and get a better impression of them .

Those BMWs need a whole repair van _(filled with expensive spare parts)_ for such a journey. Far better to have a simple, rugged bike _(with fewer things that can go wrong),_ which require just small set of spare parts & that can be repaired easily. Having said that, I am quite impressed with that Enfield. The only thing that went wrong with it was the clutch plate. _Reminds me of this ancient Enfield I used to ride as a kid, it spent most of the year rusting in a garage but would still come to life (after a herculean effort at kick-starting it)_

This is my first ever comment on youtube or on any other channels. During this pandemic layoff I've started to binge watch S2 from beginning to the last episode. Then went back to S1 to continue until this eps 83. And I must say what a wonderful journey it has been through all the episodes. A virtual journey to all the wonderful places in this world rarely seen on TVs, internet. it's an exhilarating experience to say the least as if I am actually the one wearing the helmet. The choice of background music adds to the excitement and thrills throughout the journey although I wanted to hear more of the roars of Basanti and Dhanno. Now it got me interested in motorbikes though I've never ever drove one in my entire life. I'm past 60 but I think its not yet too late though:). Thank you Itchy Boots and wish you all the best of health during this time of crisis.

They really really appreciate this :) I was surprised to learn that the name of the country has nothing to do with the similar sounding "Cossack" people. As I understood it, the people of Kazakhstan are in fact Turkic, and the meaning of the name essentially "free people" :) Oh, re language, just reached the part where you had lived there for a year :) and then lol a Range Rover? Wow, sooo modern! The Hostel's are REALLY secured! I never got to Almaty, the Soviets had a lot of military/space program bases (and still do) in Kazakhstan so everything was a low profile as I could get :) I continue to marvel at the advancements made in that part of the old USSR :) Seer
