S1000XR Racing in the KRRC - SUPER N Naked. Highlights

Modified my touring into a naked bike for first KMG hosted race. This was my first race and after having issues in qualifying with a tire valve, I was able to make up some ground at the start. Was good first lap battle and edging closer to the rider in front for a final attempt on last lap. Really fun ride with XR, I really like the looks of the XR Naked, and size fits by stature. Cheers, this was a exhibition race. Looks like the series is continuing next year. Wish you could join too, be fun to race together. Having the front bars so low and forward really changed the handling.

@@adzventurerider that's awesome, wish I could join too. Which bars did you go with? Is it necessary to remove the front portion to run them?

I have currently helibars. Before I removed the front fenders/lights, they where set all the way forward, I actually had to put limit brackets as the levers would contact the uprights for windshield. After I removed that whole front end, I rotated helibars 180 degrees to get them down and forward. I'm 6'5", this would not be practical for anyone under 6'2". It's like a drag bike for average height rider. Lol. I just bought some cheap raised clip ons to see if I like them. Bikes in prices for a engine upgrades and general maintenance. @@adzventurerider you're super tall man! Bet the XR fits you like a glove. I don't go on IG much, but I just followed you there. I would like to experiment a little bit with bars, would like them to be a little narrower and lower, but at the same time I'm very used to the stock ones, it doesn't really hinder my riding. My fitness and not leaning off the bike is what really affects my riding the most.

Xr Vs the world

I rode the XR on track, it can go fast but its not my pick bike for track day. Awesome video, looks like lots of fun to go racing.

Xr is not focused on track, nice to have the Swiss army bike, can cruise or run on the track. XR not too far behind anyway. With my size it looks like a standard bike. Lol

Totally off topic but where did you get the grab handles that replace the rear carrier? Awesome video btw!!

Thanks for watching the video. The grab handles are the basic option for xr. I replaced with PN 46547717014.

Yeah, i could only hear it during the race. After watching the footage, was unreal how bad he missed the braking point.

I use a gopro 7 with wind muff up front and 360 max in rear. The gopro studio takes some of the wind out when editing the 360. The 7 is not edited for sound.

Braking later, braking deeper into the corner, greater lean angle, faster on the throttle and who knows, you could be in contention for the win 😉

Some gains definitely on braking. Going to focus on carrying more speed into the fast corners and less neutral time. Win would be tough to catch the SFV4, experienced rider as well. Hoping to drop couple more seconds this season, hoping for a podium.

@@adzventurerider I don't know what you changed on the XR but I would start with the front fork sticking minimal 2cm maybe even more, through the triple clamp for more stability and better feeling in the front.. because the front sucks.. normally it's not good to have a neutral time, you keep braking until you go back on the gas, this way your front tire also has the most grip in the corners and you reduce the chance of a low sider. but for a first time overall not bad.
