Are you an S-Chassis fan? If so, what would you rather have - a JDM version or a UDSM one?

Always jdm. They have sr20det while the us used the KA24E. which stands for SHIT!

I'm from Asia., Honestly Jdm or Usdm is still the same tho beside we Rhd while Ya'll Lhd., As for motors that depends on what you prefer., High rev or Torquey like KA but hey i understand you guys wanna 10 Star Jdm lol

@@redforman4464 sorry to hear you feel that way abt the KA. I highly suggest you see David Pattersons aka thatdudeinblue's review of 2 back to back reviews of turboed KA24DE's...he absolutely loved it..both cars were beasts and he even regretted getting rid of his KA motor. He himself has a 2J 240 yet loved the KAT approach. When done right the USDM truck engine can haul ass. Check em out. It might surprise you

Had my 180sx JDM RPS13 SR20DET for roughly 15yrs now (in Oz, so no issues with left/right-hand drive). Glad I never gave it up and would absolutely do it again. Having issues now with greed and selling it in today's market as opposed to holding it for the sentimental value. The sentimental value still seems to be winning, so I guess I really love that car lol

I too am in Oz and have had my genuine Type X 180 for just over 12 years now. Very similar issues with selling and buying a bigger family car v.s. sentimental value. Good thing though I have a great wife who wouldn't let me sell it if I tried so off to the track I go.

Currently building a 1jzgte s13 after selling my first s13 of 6 years, I'm super glad I'm starting fresh with a stock car with the knowledge I have now! My older got his first s13 when I was barely 11 so it was always cool when he took me out 🥰 My dream is a s14 silvia with k's aero, but my current 240sx is a coupe with silvia front and I plan on running origin racing line kit 🤟

So let’s get this straight because the term “type x” is so beat to death. Type X is a sub model. All kouki year 180sx had the circular tail lights and the kouki bumper. The side skirts, spoiler, and rear valance was an oem aero option for all models. You have type G, type S, type R, and Type X. G/S being DE and R/X being DET. Type X is the loaded model like the SE model in the states. You can add the aero package to any model you want.

@@driftingbrandonc.6480 there was a type x option during the chuki generation as well. The three piece rear valance was actually released during the chuki generation. Zenki and early generation 180sx used numbers for the sub model. You have type I,II, and III. It wasn’t till 94 I believe when they switched to the letter sub model.

Not even a question to ask. The Silvia/200SX is way superior to the 240SX. The mere idea Americans and Canadians swap in parts from the Silivas/200SX/180SX is proof of this. Not all parts are interchangeable across all S13s though. I found that out years ago. The hard way. I had to send back parts for the 240SX that I thought would fit my 200SX.

The bumpers are still actually available as of Oct 2022, but who knows how much longer that will last, since nearly everything else has been discontinued. They've gotten pretty expensive just like everything else, though.

Silvia is better because i have had 5x s13 and only one 180sx... although i would get another 180sx.. who are we kidding they are all awesome

Wrong info on the type x. Yes it's fully loaded and all our hatches. The 180sx type x was when they brought back the 180sx too production in 1998 due to popular demand! They had already been making s14 and they made both also the story on the sileighty is cool.

Hey man, Anthony from Car Shop Midori, The Type X actually was never discontinued it was facelifted in 1996 and discontinued October 1998, and later the entire 180sx line up in general in December 1998. They had already been manufacturing the S14/S15 Chassis during the discontinuation of 180sx. Their info is actually pretty damn accurate just throwing it out there! This is coming from an Importer btw.

Opinions on the better buy, a bone stock, very clean low mile 240sx vs a Silvia, that is much less clean, with mods? Silvia is a bit more expensive than the 240sx, but is still doable.

Said no to the price tag of 10.5k and with talking I caved in and brought this bone stock 180sx home at 8k in 2017. Well 8k was nothing compared to 14-16k now lol.

The S13 and S14 were called the 240SX in the U.S. We never got the S15.

@@cv1b312 The S15 was never sold in the US Market, so you won't likely see any in America. It was only sold in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
