Look, for its weight and price, this radio is golden! Sure, it's not a frequency counter but is in the ballpark and what do you want to do with a tiny radio like this? It's fine for listening around the Ham bands, MW, and FM broadcast band. I would love to see the firmware updated to add Bluetooth, a squelch feature for AM and FM (CB monitoring), and even wstrrfall display ( although that would eat up the battery pretty quickly).... it's well worth having when on the go.

I just got my replacement, undamaged mini from China. Looking over the case carefully, I noted a small hole on the bottom of the case opposite the SMA connector. Later, while charging the radio via USB-C port, I noticed that tiny hole was glowing green! So it is a view port for an LED when charging the radio. After playing around a bit, I did notice this radio is a bit "deaf" on MW, and 80+40 Meters bands. Much better on VHF.

One other bit of weirdness with the radio is this: Normally, when you dial the encoder clockwise, it increases frequency and counter-clockwise it lowers the frequency. That works as expected. BUT when you go to adjust the BFO...it behaves just the opposite. The BFO decreases into the negative when you dial clockwise and positive for counter-clockwise. Makes fine tuning SSB all the more difficult. This radio needs a firmware update right out of the box! Not ready for prime time. I just hope the github community adopts and fixes this nice hardware package....so much potential!

Using BFO Is it possible to tune in accurately to a correspondent if he is located between frequencies differing by 1KHz?

Could someone please explain what the issue is with it? It has a separate BFO control. If not properly tuned, it can cause the actual tuned frequency to shift a few kHz up or down from the displayed frequency. It’s a typical SI4732 receiver (the same chip used in models that are 3 times more expensive, like the ATS-25), no more, no less- just in a smaller form factor and at a lower price. In my opinion, the only weak aspect is the UX (it doesn’t look particularly convenient to operate).
