Have you considered mounting that board onto two wall-mounted wooden boards? This would make the pedals both a decorative and functional feature. Add some LEDs to taste. Maybe also add some shelves to the studio to create a further Ambience. Maybe all your albums as framed prints or other great ideas. Happy New Year! Like myself, many more of your followers who are also your Patreons thank you for your continued inspiration.

Interesting idea! I've actually considered that. Maybe at my next studio I can build a wall mount for the board. Thank you for your positivity! Happy new year to you as well.

I’m surprised more folks don’t use Temple Audio pedal boards They seem setup to accommodate not only guitar pedals, but synth modules too. I actually spent today mocking up a Temple Audio board on Pedal Playground for my studio desk with the synths, groove boxes, and drum machines I want to have in front of me while also managing my cables.

I remember few years back during lockdown I came across your channel and now I am creating tunes that I never thought I could do. Your channel I think it is a very unique and it has positive reinforcement learning component for the people like my self. So Thank you!

The video might have great if you not only put the pedal in the face ( still cant see the name on)is it so hard to tell what pedal youre talking about besides its great and so. Disappointing. Nah.

I have the opposite situation, I'm primarily a guitarist but use software for all of my processing. After years of cables, power issues, multiple boxes, mystery ground noise gremlins and more I sold every amp, pedal, and rack unit. Now I do everything with just an Axe-FX, computer with plugins, and studio monitors.

And it just works right? Never been better? I assume the sound is amazing too. Your situation sounds very similar actually!

My main question is what amp are you running this back to in your room? I just spent way too much time trying to find one locally and almost gave up… until I found a used Roland KC-300 for $200 mainly for the extra channels. Are you thinking of sending this to an external mixer before the amp? Great vid btw.

For a few years I had a Strymon Iridium as my "Amp" and as much as I tried to love it, I never loved it. Maybe because I was trying to put synths and guitar through it? I don't know. No matter what setting or IR's I loaded up into it, I was never happy so I sold it lol! Now I just go straight back to my interface. I'll probably build a custom cab simulation using Ableton's "Amp" and "Cab" plugins for the live shows. Glad to hear you didn't give up though! Stick with it and thanks for your comment.

Having followed you for the last couple of years, I feel I understand your quest for quality and the type of music you create. At one point in terms of pedals, I was where you are now. My solution was to sell every pedal that I owned and replace them with three Eventide H90s. They are the best-sounding pedals ever made period. They are massively tweakable and they make every synth that I own, regardless of cost, sound better. They are stereo or dual mono according to your needs. They accept midi. The range of effects is truly amazing. Why 3 three identical pedals? they are individually configured according to the group of synths that they service i.e. studio, live, and drum machines/sequencers. With three identical pedals, you only have to learn one interface, making you more fluent and creative. I did keep a couple of my favorite pedals like the Chase Bliss MOOD so I could insert them into the H90s send effects chain. Of the pedals I sold there were a couple of Eventide H9s, IMHO these are more suited for guitars than the H90s. This is an overused saying but I have found that with my H90 setup, less is more. Best wishes for 2025

Very insightful perspective! I've heard great things about the H90s but never actually considering going this route. I'll look into it. Thank you!

I also started to build one-size-fits-for-all pedal board for guitar, bass, violin, drum machines and hardware synths. Starting rule being, must work with one power supply, one I had was 10 outputs, with 100 mA each. For some of the pedals I had, that was not enough power, then I also realised some pedals just sound better on bass, than on guitar, and the other way round, so I was trying to fit 5 or 6 distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedals just for guitar and bass and also to add A/B switch to have bass route or guitar route... Then it was clear, it was not going to work. Now I have three smaller pedal boards, one is mainly for guitar, one mainly for bass and third for more power hungry and multifunction pedals, which I am more likely to use with synths or drum machines. Since you are already using four power supplies, how about splitting your pedals to four signal chains? Like one signal chain for stereo pedals only, second for just mono pedals, or one signal chain for pedal you use more often, and one for pedals you never really use, but want to keep for that one time in year. Also as someone mentioned, add patchbay to route your pedals or signal chains.

As a guitarist I appreciate your perspective. I use a combination of pedals and software effects and sounds in my music. Pedals can offer something unique to the sound. It’s always fun to experiment. 👍🏻

Thank you Chris, I don't have a pedalboard or even an effects pedal. So bare with me when I doubt and always try to keep my sets minimal to be able to focus more on the music. You did get me wondering so maybe you can point me to one of your video's about the benefits of this method.

A ton of "guitar" pedals are designed to work with synths and with line level signals, clearly a pedal that's designed to make a guitar sound like a synth is a different story.. The issues arise from the traditional "pedal board" format when you connect many pedals into one long chain, now you're taking a guitar-specific approach to configuring an FX path and it just maximizes potential issues with the signal path and it minimizes the routing flexibility available to you. There are no advantages to configuring an FX group this way designed to work with multiple synths instead of a single guitar. If you are using a VST synth like Serum, yeah probably just stick to other Vsts for FXs but if you primarily use hardware synths- pedals are an indispensable way to customize and experiment with your sound without resorting to rack outboard gear. I use a ton of pedals as outboard gear and with synths but i organize them into smaller reassignable chains and I use a patchbay to configure the pieces to suit the particular context I'm working in, which is basically a necessity to make pedals work with setup of multiple synths. The patchbay allows you to instantly reassign a set of particular pedals to a different synth, or to route the FX signal of a particular synth in parallel to it's dry signal and have the option of recording both or merging them into one at the mixer. The flexibility this provides is crucial to making a collection of pedals work well in a context of multiple hardware synth setups.

Well, there is a fix, stereo ReAmp. Converts line level to Hi-Z (guitar level/hi impedance). I believe intellijel makes a module that converts all levels mic/guitar/line/euro lvls, or radial - see link. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EXTCStereo--radial-extc-stereo-2-channel-active-re-amping-device

I just noticed you can actually see the Radial visibly in this video looking sad off to the side. I might sell it since I'm going to just start playing guitar, and guitar only, straight through the board. We shall see!
