Sorry I can't agree. I had a great trip. End of April to 12th May. No rain. the weather is a chance you take anywhere. You should have had you wet gear in your box. Also, you said the back up vehicle went missing for 2 days. You didn't complain that you had no luggage for 2 days. I'm really surprised at that. 16 of us, only 1 breakdown. Also, the extra road side recovery was only $100 and was optional. The guide and the van driver were great. Really helpful. The guide was very knowledgeable too. I'm sorry you didn't have the experience my friends and myself had. I would do the trip again tomorrow if I could afford it. Maybe a lot depends on who you get to take you on the trip.

What an awesome series! Episodes 10,11,12 were my favourite, and you two look awesome together on the road. Like many more people, I’m saving for a few years to do this bucket list must, and obviously you always think of ER as the best company out there to book the tour, maybe because their strong market, however this series has been an eye opener and definitely will make you think twice when the time comes to book it. Definitely I will be looking for other alternatives and I hope many more are able to find this series and watch it. Thanks for sharing, now off to your Wild West tour, safe rides out there! 👍👍

Totally agree with your feedback about ER. It is purely focused on the business and not the fact that it is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many customers. They have a monopoly in the USA and they are the only people you can use over there. Anyone else you book through for Harleys is just 3rd party hiring ER bikes unless they own them outright. It's a shame because it is an amazing place to ride and things like this just put a dark cloud over it. I'm so glad we did self guided and the next time it will be on my own bike I fly over. Thanks for the videos and for bringing back some great memories.

Wow! I think the two of you do a great job doing your videos. And thank you for them, I wish I would’ve found you guys when I was recovering from knee replacement a few moths back! I’ve watch all of them now and want to tell you I am not surprised on your thoughts about Eagle Rider it’s so sad in this country these companies forget what got them where they are today it’s in about all the corporations. I think it’s bull shit to charge a person extra for road service and from what I seen half ass it at best but you should only have flat tires to worry about but from your trip that’s a minor thing good God do they even inspect the bikes. I know that a Harley can have a problem or two, but I bought one years back best bike ever might of been lucky but I have had a couple touring Harleys but I get up on things. The weather can really suck in Illinois I live about 35 miles from Pontiac I have been as far as Albuquerque New Mexico need to take some time go the whole thing. I know that it would be tough to do a group ride that long with strangers most bikers can bond some but that’s a lot to ask for. From what I took from you video’s you have been to California before there’s a you tube Chanel 2Lanelife that you would like I think. One thing you guys can say Route 66 done it check that one off the bucket list. Keep the rubber side down! Much Respect

What an amazing series this was. A bucket list experience for many of us. I really love the pace of the filming (and the steadiness of the shots - why can’t my efforts be half as good?), the cinematography, and your choice of music. Its a soothing experience to watch and has this indescribable magnetism in it to make you want to binge through it all. So whatever time and effort it has taken you to montage and edit, it was worth it. Having had a stab at it myself, I think you are really good at this, and long may you continue. On the negatives, as someone else said, I guess its not the best ad for the Eagle guys, which is surprising to me as most (all) American mass/organised things I have ever done (none on bikes) have been excellent in service/customer experience terms. And of course HD. I take it you ‘ve never privately had one, as if you had, you would know. World’s worst bikes in reliability by miles (anyone I have ever known in the UK who had one, never bought another, incl myself). This of course only proves the value of brand and heritage, the fact they are still around. Now you know when people on BMW boards such as UKGSER complain about Bmw’s unreliability, they ve never been on a Harley 😊 Anyway, wonderful again, can’t wait for the next series! South African coastal wine tour by bike in February/March perhaps?

Thank you Theo, such a lovely comment to read, we are so glad you enjoyed it and yes, the entire YT experience is one that requires a lot of time and patience to master, let alone the actual filming process!! Having done my research for the last year or so, and spoken to a lot of people who have done this with ER, it appears that the tour is totally dependent on the guide and driver you get as to if you have a good trip or not. If they don’t really care and don’t bother bonding the group then you’ll have a crap time.
@Us_On_Tour2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is probably more the case, but the lack of organisation and the poorly maintained motorcycles is something outside of the tour guides control. However, we had a bad support driver that made the work of our tour guide even harder.
@steveyoung28792 жыл бұрын
@@Us_On_Tour i would of thought the organisation of the trip is solely the responsibility of the tour guide as they are the one who tailors the actual tour to the needs and wants of the group?

Eagle Rider? It is a Business. If you want to rent a bike for one way ride across the continent there is not a lot of other options. I've never ridden a Harley. You like them or you don't. Unfortunate you didn't enjoy it. You can do the whole Pacific coast one way with moto quest. Edit. I have watched the whole thing now. Cause I was interested in R66. R66 is probably not for me. Not because things didn't go well. You series, gave me a good description of the ride. Tacky tourist stuff isn't really my thing. I like to avoid interstates when I can. I think I might join the club and go do my own thing. The wild west is more my style.

@Us_On_Tour2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you know right, it does seem to be strange the more we look back on it. But weirdly we didnt really take much notice whilst on the trip. The Bubba Gump thing was entirely our doings as we were not given much time to eat this day due to the trip ending and having to return the bikes to the depot. Lesson learned thats for sure and when we stayed in Santa Monica, we found some fantastic places to eat when left to our own devices....

We were on this tour with you and would like to bring up a few points. First being at the start of the tour we were told to take what we needed daily on the bike so people wouldn't be in and out of the van. You chose drone and camera gear over wet weather gear. Can't blame the van driver for that. We were also told, ride where we were comfortable. At no stage did you bring up about riding at the front until the end of the tour. You were asked to join others for tea on several occasions, but you were always busy. So you did nothing to help the dynamics of the group. Not the van drivers fault. You complained about Brad behind his back but with the camera in your face you praise him up. I think that's hypocritical. You made a point about how much money " the Europeans" spent..the Aussie dollar wasn't to flash against the greenback and the pound and our airfares are twice the price. So stop whining, it was about the journey and making friends which you obviously didn't do. Check with the Kiwis! They called you out. Whether you respond or not I don't care as you struggle with the truth in order to promote your channel. The whole trip was about a test of character.
@Us_On_Tour2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, not getting into a pissing contest as you guys were ones of the only that had the same outlook and opinions on many of the problems we encountered (quite a list) you also ran the rules as set out, which was good as far as we were concerned. We weren't blaming the van driver entirely, more about eagle rider for us being two up on one bike without a support vehicle, which yes had some of our rain gear in it 🤷♂️ Oh and we did have a chat with Brad on about day 8 following some confusion. Glad you had a good tour to Sturgis from all accounts 👍
