I can see how your first vision with brass/gold fixtures, etc. would have looked beautiful with the tiles and curtains, but you made the right choice to change to chrome because of the shower frame. Looks wonderful. We have used that film in our home. It is fantastic. We put it on the clear panes of glass in our front door. It lets light in but you also have privacy. The fabric for your curtains looks fantastic. Great job

We had to repair the top of the walls where they join the ceiling first before I could paint.

How easy or hard is it to get local installers when you do remodel work? Do you communicate with them strictly in French?

We haven’t had any problems! It’s been easier getting tradespeople here than getting them in Aus. They generally speak a little English but if you make an effort in French they are very patient and will help you.

Why did you leave the old tile On the wall and put the new 1 over top of it I've never seen it done that way

I tried getting some of them off, whatever they used to adhere them with was some pretty strong stuff and I would have destroyed the hollow brick internal walls in the process, so I treated the tiles with a bonding agent so they would adhere properly. Sometimes you have to adapt :)
