Now that I think about it, when Che Guevara was young he too went on a journey on a motorcycle through South America. He also wrote a book about his journey called 'The Motorcycle Diaries'.

I noticed one thing. Whenever you drive through a town or a small village or an even smaller settlement ..there are always people raising their hand to greet you back. And as long as there are people in the world, often very poor people, greeting a total stranger, which seems to be the universal gesture everywhere of welcoming someone without any prejudices, then there is plenty of hope in the world to overcome all the bad things and nothing is lost at all.

You have inspired me to buy a motorcycle for the first time. I am 71 now and have always wanted to get something small to just get me "out there". I live in N Central Florida where there aren't that many hills, but lots of gravel/dirt roads to explore. If I don't do it now, I feel that I would be passing up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I'm looking at the Yamaha TW200. Thank you for your beautiful videos and dedication.

What she is telling is not accurate. The Che guerrillas were ambushed and defeated in la Quebrada del Churo not far from the school you've been in La Higuera. That's where the Che surrendered and was taken prisoner, later lodged in that school and sentenced to death by the elected democratic government of Bolivia in 1967

One thing that struck me in my travels through South America, was how many people there were in the small towns, within the town square, at celebrations, and festivals. Yet, there was so little traffic between these small towns. Most locals stay at home. The road today seemed devoid of other vehicles, it makes it much easier and more enjoyable.

It was time for an oil change yes, but I think you refer to the moment where I was talking to the camera at the turnoff to La Higuera? The different angle there makes the engine sound very different haha, but that’s due to the location of the camera. I almost never record audio from this point of view so it sounds different!

I thought it sounded like the engine was knocking also.

Buck Meredith I have noticed the knock from early on in Noraly’s trip. I chalked it up as low octane/poor quality fuel. However just today, I test rode the Himalayan for my sister who is buying one here in Seattle. I immediately noticed the knock again. It’s just an RE trait I guess!!

Love your videos, the scenery is spectacular. We have been watching and looking forward to each new episode. My husband says there is no way you are all alone, he says someone is traveling with you. I say no. Stay safe!
