AOA, it seems to be rack and pinion seal leak . The smell of it can tell what kind of oil it is. Whether Hydraulic or engine oil. Please check the steering pump oil reservoir and start the car then turn steering left and right to feel if it stiff .It could be transmission oil leak from hose that is connected to radiator. Also the oil filter or the seal can cause leak .You can check the rack and pinion boots for damage and leak . Hopefully you will find out .Hose leak which is from transmission to radiator. Welcome back Kamran. Yes, we found the problem, its a few leaking seals, nothing catastrophic. I was worried about the turbo. That would have been a major disaster.

Hassan, the plan definitely is to go all the way to the Yukon, and perhaps Alaska. Lets see what I can manage in terms of time i.e. being able to do and then return before winter sets in

Well, there were a couple of other issues too, and as I mentioned, because labor costs are so high, once you open up access to the engine, one might as well get everything else done too. More cost effective.

Adnan, there is a famous oceanside drive called Cabot Trail. We will do that, but thats a portion of the trip we will undertake 👍🏼
