I had that problem, ended up using my jack. You can always invest in a Dewalt mid torque, it'll zip that axle nut loose no matter what.

Great stuff, many thanks. Several hundred miles ago, my 80k mile '07 S2000 developed a clicking sound when accelerating from a stop, especially when turning to the right. Happens about once every hundred miles or so, not very noticeable but is something of a concern. I re-torqued the wheel bearings but that made no difference. Drained the differential, lube was very clean with no particles, refilled with Amsoil lubricant. My AP1 owning son suggested it might be one of the differential mounting assemblies is worn, but I'd like to have a better notion of what the problem is before taking all that apart. Wondering whether it could be a bearing cup/axle assembly (dang those things are expensive!). Any thoughts?

Thanks for the great video. What are the symptoms that indicate a swap and regrease is needed?

Main symptom is vibration under acceleration. Second would be mileage and age. Based on how old these cars are now I’d recommend doing them if you car is over or close to 100k
