7:30 Trust me Gjirokaster is a heck of a lot more charming now than it was 10 years ago. Up until recently the Old Town and Bazaar were almost abandoned and in terrible condition. The restoration has been amazing and I'm so glad Albania finally has a well deserved stunning historic touristy place alongside an amazing castle that it can be proud of. Hopefully it can become a landmark that people instantly think about when they mention Albania. Great video!

Wow, we can hardly imagine that! Albania definitely has a lot of natural beauty and history to be proud of and we hope that more and more people will begin to realise that. Thanks for watching! 😍

What an interesting video. All in all from what I've seen I like Albania and would like to visit. My biggest concern is about the strange behavior's of people at your park ups. I'm not sure I'd feel very comfortable not knowing what to expect. Anyhow, thanks André and Lisa for another enchanting video. Why oh why do I always have a craving for some sweet pastries after watching one of your videos......
@WeWillNomad Жыл бұрын
😂 Perhaps that should be our channel objective, making people crave something yummy! To be fair, the strange parking lot behaviour is something that one will find everywhere in the world and can't be blamed on Albania. It was just a combination of us making some poor choices and getting unlucky. It just goes to reinforce that one needs to be selective in where to overnight if getting a good and peaceful night's rest is important (which it is for us)! Don't let that put you off Albania 😜

Great video. Gjirokaster is an old town with rich history. It's the town where my mom and her family is from. Those rice balls are one of their staple dishes. They don't just have mint but other herbs too. Do you know our only king's son lived in Johannesburg for some time. Sorry, prepare to dig a little deeper in your pockets in Greece. Good luck.

Thank you! We did not know that about the king's son, very interesting.

I love Albania! Have you guys been to Bulgaria? If not, I highly recommend: • *Plovdiv and Veliko Tărnovo* (for best taste of Bulgaria, best suggestion) • Rila Monastery and Mountains (if you're Christian and/or like to hike) • Varna, Burgas, Sozopol, etc (beach tourism) • Etar and Veliko Tărnovo (for cultural and historic tourism) • Rose Valley (just a suggestion) • Koprivshtitsa (lesser known historical tourism) • Sofia (but never do a capital-only tour; unless you are a fan of Sofia's architecture if you have to choose, you're better off with suggestion no.1 Plovdiv and V.T.) • Kazanlak, Kalofer, Karlovo (only recommended if you are seeking specifically for them or if you're close by; home towns of famous revolutionaries and near Rose Valley)

Wow, thank you SO much for all these great suggestions! We actually did not get to Bulgaria this year, but will definitely visit in the next year. So now we have marked all these for when we do get there! Much appreciated! 👍😍

Hello André and Lisa Very nice to follow you during your trip through Europe. Your enthusiasm and cheerfulness and the way how you doing is great. We will follow you until the end. Top. May I ask you what brand sunglasses you have, they are very nice. We looking forward to you following videos. Bye bye. Friendly regards from Hans and Margo Thé Netherlands.

Thank you for your lovely message Hans & Margo! We are happy to have you travelling along with us! Our sunglasses are a South African brand (30south.co) but unfortunately we really can't recommend them 🙈 We love the design and the frames but the lenses just don't last. We are always looking for something similar but with better lenses! 🤩

Really great footage and coincidently we saw some enormous Gunnera here in Devon today. The food all looks fabulous, we'll be researching how much vegan offerings there are in Albania. really enjoying the insight into the realities of parking too,
@WeWillNomad Жыл бұрын
🤣 We had to google Gunnera... now we learnt something too! Think there are lots of vegetarian options (lots of fresh vegetables too), but vegan might be tricky, they like their cheese and yoghurt! 😜

Does the van have ABS? I know it doesn't have airbags. Asking as I have the chance to bay the same one for very cheap with relatively low miles for this diesel engine and just asking what the experience is... Thanks.
@WeWillNomad Жыл бұрын
No, unfortunately no ABS - which is a pity. We generally avoid driving in the wet if possible and usually keep speed under 80 km/h. These models are pretty reliable otherwise and if it was serviced regularly will go forever.

did you feel safe travelling around albania with campervan?? what are the prices there? are they good english speakers??
@WeWillNomad6 ай бұрын
Albanian people are very welcoming. We never felt unsafe but you have to be reasonable as to where you find yourself. Generally, local produce is great value but supermarkets can be on par with Italy. We had no issues communicating. You can check our website for an article and summary video on Albania
