Liked how you threw in a few X14U shots to showcase the huge gulf between the two phone camera systems.
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
😉 it had to be done 😅 to be fair they are 2 phones miles apart in terms of hardware but subsequently there is a huge price difference between the 2 ! But yeah 14U any day 😅
@seanp-kk7jj18 күн бұрын
@@UpsideLens There is a huge price difference, the 512gb version of the Samsung is £200 more on Amazon haha - It's not even a contest.
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
Oh my god ! Didn't realise the S24+ was more expensive than the 14U 😳 I thought being a mid range product it would be £400/500.... Man was I wrong lol how do they get away with charging that money for that 🤯
@seanp-kk7jj18 күн бұрын
@@UpsideLens World class marketing and consumer apathy. Big business relies on it, their target demographic are magpies and they're attracted to shiny things - so let's give them (expensive and mediocre) shiny things. I've got a polarising filter attached so can see past the shiny haha.

Thank you my friend 🙏 and I don't know about the style of the videos whether I should just concentrate purely on photography alone and keep all travel stuff out ? Don't know.... If I start travelling a bit more I may even do a second channel purely for the behind the scenes and travel bits if anyone is interested, kind of more vloggy vlog type if that makes sense. Don't know, got a lot to sort out and figure out for 2025 😅
@ashouhdy18 күн бұрын
@UpsideLens noooo, don't separate the videos,, focusing only on photos is boring/ old style 😅 ,, your videos is like story telling and we like that ,, its as if we r traveling with you and shooting pics with you thats how its different and beautiful,, you just need more traffic for the channel , ur vidz are great

you can add some comparison shots with a real dslr or another phone too

Also you totally deserve this. Your videos are top tier and it's pretty clear that you work hard. It's great that other people are finally noticing. What did you think of the s24+? I have the s24 ultra and the shutter speed makes me want to pull my hair out.
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
@Davinassunflowergarden thank you mate 🙏 and to be completely honest I got frustrated pretty quick with the S24+ 😅 not enough native focal lengths, very noisy sensors, shutter lag indeed... I really had to work hard to get the shots that I took 😅 I feel lucky to have the Xiaomi 14 Ultra !

Came a long way from that Xperia pics post on Reddit when he had just a KZbin handle with no videos uploaded 😂 congratulations 👏
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
Ahhhhhh mate yes I know seems like a decade ago and yet it was only last year 😅 as a matter of fact I didn't have a KZbin account when I posted my very first batch of photos from the Xperia 1V ! Looking back tho I have enjoyed every step of the way ! Rome wasn't built in a day and I know I still have a lot of work to do but I keep telling myself that as long as I tweak and improve bits and pieces along the way then the only way is up 😉🤙

Hey mate can I ask how this works as a general use phone? I’ve heard updates and such are bad and a few negatives about it I see you’ve created yourself on this phone a bit would love an answer
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
I'm guessing youre referring to the Xiaomi 14 ultra, I don't have a single bad thing to say about it ! Best phone I've owned in years ! The only negative is the photography kit which I have covered in a separate video but nah overall very happy with it. Lightning fast charging, amazing cameras, vanilla-ish android, IR blaster (very underestimated feature !!!) super fast WiFi, awesome screen, speakers are ok (not iPhone level good though) good haptics... Really happy with it 👍
@dadeee777618 күн бұрын
@ mate you’re a legend alright just wanted to ask 2 things cause it’s like 1800$ here so not a walk in the park to get but am thinking of it How’s the battery last when on the camera quite a bit? And heating any issues there? Last thing being I mainly want it for video and already know the photos can be great, video wise is it quite smooth out of the box no editing to get it looking great? Oh and actually last thing cause I realise I haven’t checked this specifically but the zoom has it got quite smooth zooming?
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
Like any phone if you use the cameras for any length of time yes battery will go down haha especially for video but that's because I push my phone, I'll get to that in a second. No heating to speak of. The only time it'll get hot is if you fast charge it at 90W which is to be expected. Ok for video then... The Xiaomi camera app for photo is good... BUT for video it is less than stellar ! Actually much worse than let's say a Sony Xperia 1V (not VI they're rubbish !) BUT and that's the big BUT, if you use an app called mcpro24fps you can unlock near mirrorless camera video quality. That's what I use to record all the videos you watch on the channel. Instead of the ridiculous 80mbps processed and ultra sharpened output you can record up to 500mbps !!!!!!! Yes ! In LOG and bea bale to choose Sony Alpha camera colour spaces and colour gamut ! That puts the results in front of any other phone !! Once again video from Xiaomi app is rubbish so don't know about zooming smoothness, I never ever use zoom in a video, that would make the videos look unprofessional. I hope that answers your questions, have a nice day 😊

@ thanks mate just as I was going to bed well I’m stuck at work for a while but I may get this phone in the new year as I’m taking a trip out of Australia where I currently reside, need a new phone and also a camera for it all as rn my iPhone 11 Pro isn’t cutting it due to the back camera being broken lol, thanks mate it’ll give me time to wait for any new releases in the new year as well as I go on January 20th or something so thanks I’ll keep all this in mind I am just worried about getting this phone and ofcourse taking lots of photos and cunning out of battery throughout as the start of this phone I’ll me maximising my use with said trip, thanks mate I’ve got a few power banks so not the biggest issue but loved the input, this is at the top of my list atm I do want a good phone to video on that isn’t an iPhone so I hope if I get it I’ll be happy with that side of things cause you’ve shown photos is great wow
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
Just keep in mind that it's not technically the camera that does the job, it's the person behind it 😉 don't get caught up with having to buy the best, use what you want/can and concentrate on what really matters... Composition and editing those are what makes 99% of a photo ! In my Paris video I used a very midrange S24+ phone, it has it's limitations of course but you can get some awesome results, same can be said with many other phones, you just need to know the limits of the device, know how to get around them and push the boundaries. Have fun 👍
@dadeee777616 күн бұрын
Hey mate I’ve come back to ask have you used the 14 ultra in any sunny area I live in Australia and I wonder how it does with say sunny photos and such as a lot of the videos I see from you are quite moody in a way, like I said completely different areas
@UpsideLens16 күн бұрын
It does just like any camera would, you expose for the highlights. I do have some sunny/bright shots on the Xiaomi even though here in the UK sun is a luxury 😅 I shall be going in a pretty sunny place very soon... Keep an eye out 😉

ahh , i forgot to say that the xiaomi was the proper camera for that trip , i can imagine every shot taken with Samsung how better it would be using the 14 ultra , i saw how much effort you put on edit to make the s24 shots looks good 😅😅😅😅
@UpsideLens18 күн бұрын
🤣 yes the S24+ was indeed a challenge lol less focal lengths to play with, much less dynamic range, very noisy output due to sensors being so much smaller haha it did push me out of my comfort zone let's put it that way 😅
@DVinstapics21 күн бұрын
Everytime a photo from the Xiaomi came on screen (especially the 4 asian girls, amazing shot) it just blew the Samsung out of the water xD And I am a galaxy z fold 5 user lol
@UpsideLens21 күн бұрын
I just didn't have enough time to shoot a lot with the Xiaomi since I was mainly using it for the video side of things that's why I need to go back to Paris at some stage and do a proper Xiaomi video there 😅 what I struggled the most with the Samsung S24+ was the lack of focal lengths, the amount of processing / shutter lag and the amount of noise. I do believe that Samsung phones, just like iPhones are "crowd pleasers" good for most but not quite there for photo enthusiasts.
