I love the sound of the waves, its so soothing. The supermarket prices are so low, and the price you paid for the fresh veg at the market was insane. Ireland is so expensive compared to those prices. Great video guys. Stay safe.
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
Hi Ronan! Those market prices were really good (although not for everything). However, we can immediately feel the difference after Morocco. It's going to be a shock for us to go north this year 💸

Saludos, welcome to Spain🤗

It's a great area to spend winter. We've been twice at Xmas and we love it. It is surprising to see that park up spot so quiet. It was cramped the time we went there. 2 or 3 years ago it already cost 4€ for emptying and refilling. Since there's nowhere else to go I guess they know we have no other choice but to pay the price. One thing, have you been to the GEODA DE PULPI? It is amazing being inside it, looks a bit like Superman's Cryton planet. Mind you, it is not a good idea if you're very claustrophobic. If you haven't been ( I can't remember seeing you there nor mentioning it on any previous video) look it up on internet. See you on the next video!
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
wow! Just had a look at Geoda de Pulpi and it looks insane. 😲We definitely have not been there! The motorhome stop in Vera actually has a very nice setup for servicing and it's also convenient to go past there every 5 days or so - can't really complain about the price either to be honest. It is a bit of a pity that there does not seem to be municipal interest in developing some form of infrastructure to support this type of tourism. Like you say, there are zero options in that area. But yes, we also liked that spot and the area. It's good for exploring the region and just relaxing. Best part is you'll always find a spot when you return. 😁
@mattgordon91799 ай бұрын
Well in New Zealand we have many camping spots that are run by the Department of conservation. They are in the most idyllic spots by the sea and mountains e.t.c. They are cheap and yes not spain but you are welcome to put out your awning BBQ chairs and tables and chill out. It's part of the culture.
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
In Western Europe you don't really see much state-run campsites in nature. I remember that in Montenegro you could camp in national parks with a permit. In Spain (and other countries) once you move inland you will find quite a bit more 'municipal' sites but they mostly take the form of 'motorhome areas'. A lot of it free as well. Of course, we all would LIKE to 'camp' out in nature but if it's not designated it's not legal. What we're doing is taking advantage of our right to park overnight in any public space designated for 'parking'. But the definition of parking is always open to interpretation.
@mattgordon91799 ай бұрын
@@WeWillNomad Yeah I get it. Some of those park ups are pretty big though. Your'd think surly that they could designate an area for a small fee for those that want to stay a little longer and spread out a bit? I guess they are worried that cookie monsters will run a riot.

Not being able to sit outside is quite foreign for us Kiwis, but it is a rule we abide by…we can’t remember the last time we sat outside on chairs whilst we’ve been travelling Europe….but OMG we’ve seen some real doozy rule breakers. They won’t know what they’ve got until it’s gone.

Ahhh, missed your shots from your drone camera. It is a real shame Morocco dont allow drones as they greatly compliment any vlog. It doesn't have to be a long haul flight recording but just once in a while it completes the perspective of the area. Like that pink salt farm. It is always funny when I see you guys cooking and eating healthy food most of the time, do your exercise as regularly as possible and yet Lisa is a slave to ice cream and pastry. Two least healthy food you can get everywhere. Not criticizing at all, I am a sucker for those two groups so I fully understand the power of ice cream and pastry over mortals, just it is so obvious watching it in your videos. You make my guilt more palatable 😀
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
Thanks Peter! Yes, it's nice to have the drone again. It's been so windy for the past two weeks that it's a struggle to use it! By the way, we're making some changes - for a while anyway - no pastries. We both just picked up too much weight in Morocco 😒 The funny part is yesterday we're in the grocery store browsing vegetables then Lisa asked "are we getting ice-cream?" . 😁

These massive RV style motorhomes look amazing but I can’t imagine wanting to drive around in them. It must be sooo stressful and restrictive as to where you can go. Seems like it defeats the point of having the freedom of a motorhome. Have you done a technical video about the van setup? We’re about to upgrade our electrics (lithium etc) and would be interested to know how yours is setup but I don’t recall a video on it. Also, do you do all the cooking on the stovetop or do you have an oven/air fryer or something?
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
We often think about how nice having 'just' a 4.5 ton camper.. just so that we can pack more toys. But even if it doesn't even look larger than 3.5 ton it changes a lot. Suddenly you're not allowed to drive or park in many towns. In some countries all vehicles over 3.5 ton MUST have a toll box. You will pay higher toll and ferry fees.. And for many of us we need a new driver's license. Now multiply that by 100 to get to the impracticality of these massive rigs. No more stopping at the supermarket, can't pretend to fit into any normal parking bay anymore. But then again, you probably have a wine fridge in the garage. Next to your TT 😁😁
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
Oh yes. We're thinking of starting a weekly 10 minute video discussing various practical and technical things. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi Andre and Lisa, we are planning to visit Andalusia this year, travelling with a child. Can you recommend legal camping places where we can stay safe?
@WeWillNomad2 ай бұрын
If you want to 'camp' you're limited to campsites and motorhome areas. Campsites will get booked well in advance for winter months. You should find plenty of options on Park4Night for either and you should reach out to the ones you like to check availability especially if you have a more fixed schedule. . We prefer using regular (legal) parkings but you need to adhere to the limitations of each location. You can also consider asking on the Facebook group 'Traveling Europe by Motorhome or Campervan' for some specific recommendations.

I have the same concerns, how much longer will van life as we know it continue by the coast in Spain and Portugal?
@WeWillNomad9 ай бұрын
This year there seems to have been an explosion of motorhomes in the south of Spain. It's still the best (and practical speaking) the only place to be during winter in Europe. Campervan life is also part of the Spanish (and Portugese) culture and the industry also knows well how lucrative this market can be. But some things will change. Hopefully in a positive way.
@royrcf9 ай бұрын
What will spoil it for everyone is those who insist on dumping their tank water in the sea. I have seen it and smelt it on the beach south of the one you were on. I live near there and cycle along that beach and you can smell the waste long after the campervan has gone. They think because they park next to the beach they want be seen, but the evidence remains for long time.
