Yes indeed the price of those power steering pumps was quite the motivator on this one lol. Was kinda shocked at the 150 plus price tag and that was reman. Thank you for watching and the feedback

Yes for sure and may have to keep my eye out for a one at the junk yard , very well could be the shafts slopping around causing that type of leak the car has around 192k I believe so I'll know soon enough I suppose lol

If it’s whining will replacing the seals fix it? I bought a used power steering pump that I’m planning to change the seals before I slap it on.
@s33therfan5 жыл бұрын
If it's power steering pump is whining and the fluid level was fine , then the seals won't help that , the pump would have to be rebuilt . Hope this helps and thanks for watching

Thank you for the video. I will start the same task today on my friends car. Question tho, how hard is it to replace the reservoir tank, and do you have any tips on that?
@s33therfan6 жыл бұрын
I some how lost some of the video footage when editing this , but the tank reservoir is held on by 2 clips. You simply pry up on the tabs and then pry or push them off. I used spreader pliers to push them off while lifting on the tabs . With the 2 locking clips removed you can replace the reservoir and o ring . These pumps are really expensive so I was glad they had a seal kit and so far it's worked perfectly . No leaks and it was leaking really bad, I had fluid all over my belt and front engine cover . But anyways thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching

Is it easy taking off the reservoir?
@s33therfan6 жыл бұрын
I lost the footage when editing . Basically there's 2 clips that wedge it on there . You'll need a flat screw driver to pry up the tabs while simultaneously prying it or pushing the tab off. It's pretty easy I'd say , but they are wedged on there snug. Thanks for watching .
