The only reason i fly PAL is because of the direct flights. I think flying economy is better because you dont feel cheated by malfunctioning IFE broken seats not reclining etc. When i flew business class in 2022 my neighbor’s seat did not work. Thank goodness mine was ok. However i said to myself dont take any chances of spending too much to get half assed comfort.

Last time I flew PAL from the US to MNL was 2015 when my father passed away and we brought his remains home to the Philippines. A flight attendant spilled coffee on my mother and the attendant had the audacity to get mad. No apology, and my mom ended up wiping the spill. It left a bad impression that will remain with me forever. I personally would never fly Philippine airlines again. But for some people like my elderly mother, she has no choice but to fly PAL because of their direct flights. I am watching your video while trying to book her flight and I don’t think I want her to spend that amount of money with the state of their business class.

Hi Jigs I’ve been flying PAL business class for three years na. You nailed everything in your vlogs. As a PAL frequent pa-check in pa lang sa LAX ticket counter na out of order ang IFE sa seat ko pero they added 3,000 more miles for me. Not enough to compensate what I paid😡 Next tip, sa mga maaarteng meals ng PAL huwag ninyong palagyan ng “edible flower” decoration ang meals na ise-serve at sasakit ang tiyan mo 😰. Lastly you be the judge; the PAL flight attendant offered me wine on the flight. I told her meron naman pala kayong iced tea and juices why didn’t you tell me? She said “di ba I offered you wine?” Me konting kapreskahan ang sagot. I told her I’m a non drinker 😢. PAL in my Business Class experience, PAL ma-prisinta wala namang solutions 👎🏼

Hey Jigz, I used to love and fly this airline from sfo-mnl- ceb round trip business or economy class for about ten yrs or more. But I stop it because this airline until now they don’t upgrade their seats even their silverware pretty much the same as before and for paying that much since this airline is so expensive I tried different airline and I’m so happy, relaxed and comfortable on my trips now because I know I’m flying on a newer planes newer seats and restrooms doesn’t stinks not like old PAL. Try different airlines and compare and I’m sure you’ll be more satisfied for what you spend for and surely you’ll think twice before you will go back to PAL. I think If they want to compete to this business industry of flying they have to first change their planes to more updated and newer one like the other competitors specifically this is a FLAG CARRIER AIRLINE and for me that I have a transfer from Mnl to Ceb and vise versa it’s pain in the A** in Mnl airport for short it’s a nightmare specially if you have to transfer from terminal to terminal 🥵🥵🥵😤😤and also too many delayed flights it’s a joke 🤬🤬🤬. Sorry Philippine airlines I’ve got nothing against you but that’s just a real talk from a passenger and experience the nightmares, but perhaps when the NEW airport will be functioning or open and then hopefully PAL at the same time will have a newer planes or even change everything inside to a newer one just to make it look like a new plane then perhaps I will try again, but for now NO THANK YOU!✌️✌️✌️

I agree, walang privacy. Ang screen….sobrang layo. Seat? Definitely doesn’t go full flat, But food and cabin crew service are great. EVA, ANA, JAL is far better OVERALL. 1-2-1 configuration. I flew EVA last December from Ohare, I slept 8 hours straight because of the comfortable seat. Food is fine dining quality I was served Foie Gras for appetizer( I pre-ordered steamed lobster and it’s big and delicious!). May pa-pajama pa, thick comforter and a good quality noise cancelling headphones. Then the EVA lounge in Taoyuan, what can I say? Para kang nasa hotel buffet service. Thank you Jigz for your vlog! Antiquated PAL , so expensive , no upgrade in terms of facilities , good thing the younger FAs are okay, the same thing can’t be said about the old pursers

For direct flight, I choose PAL over United Airlines from SF. PAL always offers the better rates for Business Class. The UA reviews are bad for a more expensive rate.

Food in economy is disgusting! Before covid ok pa. We even had arroz caldo for snack. Pati movies & music have lots of choices. Now, konti nlang puro luma pa 😞

@@efriendsf Latest fair SFO-MNL was $4900 business class r/t. 1-2-1 configuration give you more space, privacy, and more rooms for accessories. Just the 180 degree flatbed is worth the trip.

I agree with your assessment. flew the same route B/C last April. The wife's IFE never worked, no room for accessories and the angle bed is most uncomfortable trying to get rest. Worse when encounter turbulence. The foot rest of the bed bounces on the floor with every dip. My phone and few other passengers got slipped under the seat during flight. I had to wait for mechanic to come onboard to rip the seat apart to get my. Can't leave plane without it as all immigration data are loaded on the phone. The only saving grace was the service and the food.

Customer service aside, that Business Class product is horrible! Paying more than $5,000 pero reclined lang yung set, no privacy, no personal storage sa seats, and unavailable items sa menu. That is okay sa short flight around East and Southeast Asia but not on long haul flights!

A well travelled passenger will notice the difference. PAL need to do more to make their passengers happy. Business class seats not comfortable and no wall to separate for privacy. Service is good but food choices , not so. My honest opinion.

There are other airlines that offer more privacy in Business class. But they are not nonstop.

On December 08 we bid Bonjour as Air France after 20 years will restart direct non-stop flights from Manila to Paris Charles De Gaulle and will be using the Airbus A350-900 in a 3 Class configuration Business, Premium Economy and Economy with a complementary champagne 🥂 onboard of course. It will be 3 flights a week.

Thank you for your video. Unfortunately, it sounds like the issues you or your neighbor experienced (IFE malfunction and broken seat) are common problems with PAL. While offering Mabuhay Miles is a gesture, it's unlikely to entice someone back after a frustrating flight. However, a bright spot for PAL is its younger, energetic crew. They seem to be a saving grace for the airline.

What's new with PAL that's why sometimes I'd rather travel with other asian airlines with a superb service the only problem is the stop over the only good thing with PAL is direct flight.

PAL doesn’t serve delicious food, based on my experience (SFO to MNL). however, it carries one of the best pilots in the world.

Lugi ako sa business class Kasi I don’t eat sa whole duration of the flight except hot water lang. I like traveling with an empty stomach, easy to sleep. I always choose the tail end beside the bathroom.

Each to his own. Nice service nice food and all that. However… I can’t justify burning $8400 more on an air fare for a better service or food and more leg room. I’d stick to economy. At the end of the flight we land on the same tarmac and the same destination at the same time and I can use and enjoy my $8400 and spend it in my vacation destination that I saved because I flew economy. However if one can burn that much money, more power to him. 👏

I would only try to get business class seat at the check in counter. one time they offered me a business class seat for $900 from Lax to mnl. I was tempted to get it but i was on a tight budget. Next time i will accept it because i have never been in business class in any airline. Always economy.

Next year hopefully will be different as Lufthansa is returning their direct flights to Manila from Frankfurt thus restoring direct flights between the Philippines and Europe, I used to fly with Lufthansa on my past travels and are well known for their punctuality and efficiency also the courteous cabin crew and used to be greeted with Gruß Gott and Herzliche Willkommen am Bord as I speak German, Air France is also working to return to Manila from Paris Charles De Gaulle it's a big Bonjour et Bienvenue again.

Philippine airlines product is going down i think one of their star will fall two to three star… a lot of airlines are becoming more innovative with their products they even hired foreign companies to complement with their guest flight experience. When you launched a product is supposed to stay in good standard and even improve it more overtime. But in their story they are scaling back this is sad for. Asias first airline. You should not put filipinos down but atleast with your soldier of filipino hospitality this can be balanced

@@stebopignSince most of my travels are in Europe particularly in the Nordic countries I prefer Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong then onward connection via Finnair to Helsinki Vantaa at present there are no direct flights to Europe from the Philippines which is utterly shambolic and I hate layovers. Recently read that the German flag carrier Lufthansa is returning their direct non stop flights to Manila from Frankfurt very soon, l used to fly with Lufthansa during my past travels until they ceased flying to Manila in 2008 and are well known for their punctuality and efficiency even Air France are planning to return their direct flights to Manila from Paris Charles De Gaulle. Hopefully ITA Airways the new Italian flag carrier rose from the ruins of the now defunct Alitalia can fly directly to Manila from Rome Fiumicino with their aircraft in the brand new metallic blue livery or "Azzurri" as it's called in Italian.

$5100 for me to fly from Orlando-Manila, (one way) what a ripoff. United ($2600) might not have the food quality, but at least your neighbor is not in your lap. Crazy how this airline is still in business.

yep PAL is $hit. the product is so dated. the price? On Par with airlines with better service. the IFE is so dated. id love to support PAL, but it is so hard to support their crap. but the FAs are great. filipino hospitality is always great.

It's just like the now defunct Italian flag carrier Alitalia when they went bust in 2021 after privatization in 2009, the new flag carrier is now called ITA Airways corporate name for Italia Transporto Aereo with their new metallic blue livery called "Azzurri" in Italian which is very eye catching.

Ok. enjoy the layovers in other countries. I like the nonstop option. Got really tired of going thru security inspections all over again in another airport. The one in LAX was enough thank you.
