My go to has to be Bad Buddy. I watched Not Me and Theory of Love because it was recommended to me and I liked it. But then I watched Bad Buddy and it was GAME OVER MY LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Totally get why you would not recommend it as a starter right now, although I made someone watch it just last week as the first Thai BL and they were hooked as well!

I would add ATOTS becuse to me the story works no matter what the gender of the mains. Like it could have easily been GL or het. Also great story, great acting, great direction.

I will write as someone older, i.e. 45+, we who are the generation that got to know this LGBTQ+ world through directors like Pedro Almodóvar or series like Tales of the City, I would say yes for the series: A Tale of a Thousand Stars For Couple: Jam Rachata Hampanont & Film Thanapat Kawila Actor:Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai ​

I agree with everything you said about Not Me but feel like it is such a unique BL that I wouldn't recommend it as a gateway into it. I really think Bad Buddy is the perfect start point but would need to add a warning not to get too attached to the ship! I would also recommend My School President as it's such a sweet intro into the BL world. Having fallen down many an MSP and GF content rabbit hole, there is so much to watch with those boys. My ship is always 100% PondPhuwin, they are the masters of ship work, not over the top but enough to make you question yourself. I'm not delulu honestly! Actors would be Gun ATP, War and Cooheart.

I was totally ready to say 2gether as the gmmtv starter show, until I heard the explanation against it 😂 recently I’ve seen so much dislike for the BrightWin ship online but for me it was my first BL, and although I was never a shipper, I do have a soft spot for the show. If I had to choose a starter show from GMMTV, I would probably go with My School President, but Not Me isn’t a bad choice. Thanks for the JoongDunk promo 🎉 I’m a self certified JoongDunk delulu 😂 best shipwork in the industry ok. I’m still holding out hope that in 2024 part 2 they get a great story to work with. For ships I would add the force that is FirstKhao because they have a way to make people go crazy and they’ve cried in interviews enough times to deserve a spot 😅

My first Thai BL show was Tharntype xddd But I raised myself reading Yaoi manga since I was like 12 so... nothing could discourage me. But then 2gether was like my second or third show coz it was airing when I started my adventure and I really did not like that. I thought Gmmtv is not my cup of tea.

“Until We Meet Again” was my first MAJOR BL series and I was blown away by the first episode and the tears just started flowing. The acting was amazing!

2:18 I feel like I should rewatch You're My Sky because I don't remember loving it as much as you guys do. 5:18 😂😂 TharnType was my first ever BL. Talk about trauma. I didn't watch any others for like 6 months after that. My starter pack would be Not Me, PondPhuwin or OffGun. Not Me was the first time I saw OffGun and after that I went and watched every other series they did together and they are still a favorite. I don't have a suggestion for individual actor but I agree with Pavel, Cooheart and Tay as good options.

the eighth sense is so real, I love it so much it was such a good bl. I think it’s definitely a good start for bl if you don’t watch it. It’s definitely something good to start off with if you don’t want too much at once and not too much sexual content😭
