I’d live next door to Martin in a heartbeat. He’d be a great neighbour..

Martin, fastidious feet wiper, walks straight (not forgetting the phone) into the front room with his little wellies on!

Alternative dialogue in H&H lounge if Paul had been there at the start of the scene: Howard "Sweet sherry Martin?" Martin "No thank you." Hilda "A lemon curd tartlet?" Martin "No thank you." Paul "Look Hilda, if Martin didn't want a sweet sherry, I'd very much doubt he'd want a lemon curd tartlet." Martin "Well done, Paul. That's good lateral thinking. For once I agree with you...Hilda, you should have known I didn't want a lemon curd tartlet!!" Howard "I'll thank you not to talk to my wife like that, Martin!"

If Paul would have said he'd hardly want a Lemon curd tartlet - Martin would have had one just to make Paul incorrect

This comedy is a pure example why politically correctness never ruined comedy its a load of bollocks as if you need fascism to make you laugh.
