You got this in just in time Ping. I was a fan of his since his days on R&D Racing Engines RM80’s wearing the styling JT gear. RIP.

Spanish guy here, I can give a whole lot of notes about Burnworth's time in Spain: · Manresa is indeed 40-50 minutes away from Barcelona and Wikipedia says it was like 65k people back in the late 80s, not that small and for sure the biggest town in like a 20-minute radius. He was probably hired by the Maquina Motors guys, dealership is still there but the main KTM importer is now in Terrassa (halfway between Manresa and Barcelona). · Andorra is this one small tax haven between Spain and France, it's basically a "bowl" 100% surrounded by tall mountains. LOTS of MotoGp riders and pro road cyclists live there, both for taxes and for physical training. Downtown Barcelona to Andorra is like 3h flat and like 20 minutes more if you wanna reach the couple big ski resorts in there · Montserrat is one of the most beautiful places in Europe, quite easy to be motivated to pedal up and down the bunch of twisty roads there. The crazy rock formations combined with the monastery, cathedral and such is AWESOME. · San Marino is a microcountry, even smaller than Andorra, entirely surrounded by northern Italy. I don't think they've ever truly hosted anything BUT motorsports events held in places like Imola are usually classified as "San Marino GP" and such. · IVECO (not Ivico like Burnworth said) is an Italian van+truck company that has/had manufacturing plants in Spain, making them rather popular up until the 1990s. I'm almost 100% sure they were moving around in a 1980s IVECO Daily with the torque-focused 80hp engine. Thing could climb no problem but cruising speed was indeed just 55mph or so if you wanted the engine to last. · Barcelona to Lommel is around 900-950 miles depending on the route and you only had to cross TWO borders (France in the middle).

I got to race 125 intermediate at the LA collesium 1978 with him. Scott dominated 3 classes that day. I still have my big ass trophy and think about him and all the thieves jacking bikes in the RV lot the night before. awesome memories!!

I always loved the Burner! Fellow Suzuki lover as well. Great when he was talking about being aggressive at his Vintage races there at the end......heck I want to go race one now! Of course if he gets close to me in a corner he's going in the cheap seats.

Burner is a trooper. When he was 125 pro he had to race against O'mara, Wardy and Barnett. And all those guys had better bikes. Burnworth was on the crappy Yamaswap suspension and radiator mounted on the triple clamps. When I was a kid the first time I saw him was at a Saddleback National. He looked fast, totally cool in JT gear, but Barnett won both motos.

CDR Tech Track was in Castle Rock Colorado, it stands for Continental Divide Raceways. It’s a legendary Car Raceway, Mario Andretti, Al Unser Jr, all raced there. They held the 1981 and 1982 AMA motocross nationals there, someone got killed and they shut it down. Then it went back to the first lakewood track in 1983, where the 1979-1980 Nationals were held, at Lakewood Sportcycle park. Then to the new Lakewood track Thunder Valley, where it has been since 1984. Think old and new Hangtown track’s when you think of the Lakewood track’s. I grew up 10 minutes from both Lakewood track’s and my moms ashes are spread at CDR. Hope this helps.

To guys my age, who were racing back in the 70’s and 80’s Burnsworth is among the best. Burnsworth, Meyerscough…. There is a long list of guys who were so amazing and so close…. They were as much a part of it as Hannah, Ward and Bailey to me. All my hero’s.

How did I miss this one? Always enjoyed watching the Burner race. Dude was fast and smooth, not many can put those two skills together! One of my prized MX trinket’s is a Burner Suzuki decal (#39 peace sign) an old MX buddy gave me one time many years ago after we bench raced one night about Scott on that 86’ YZ125 turd @ Red Bud✊🏻 Thanks again Whiskey Throttle-Very cool.

I love your interview with Burner! I cannot help but wonder why you didn’t touch on Jetpilot more? In my opinion, he did way more for the Jet Ski industry than he ever did for moto! He was partly responsible for creating an image in that industry that was at a level that will never be duplicated! They were the JT Racing of the Jet Ski world. In fact in my opinion they were way more cutting edge! Thankfully I was part of the JT, and then Jetpilot movement back in those days! I cannot even put into words how awesome that time was! One of my great buddies Chris Gann not only raced for them, but he also worked there. I remember being so stoked to go to So Cal and hang out at the office.

I remember back in the early 80s at the San Diego Supercross, there was a flyer going around in the pits about an after Supercross party at Burners house later that night. We lived about 2 hrs away but we were driving there but decided to go home instead cause Jamul was a ways out there and we had a long drive home already. Wish we would have went there.

Sad to see that I leave a comment showing my support and admiration for Scott "Burner" Burnworth, and mention just how much he meant to me as a kid coming up as a fan of this sport and someone at Whiskey Throttle Media felt the need to delete it. No cursing, nothing disrectful, nothing but positivity and greatness spoken about one of my childhood Motocross Heros and it gets deleted. Very sad to see. I guess Whiskey Throttle Show believes in censorship for absolutely no reason these days.
