Thank you so much for sharing this information-! I think taking a course is a way to demonstrate your ability of being a self-learner. (Also, to demonstrate that you are a type of person who continues to strive for self-development.) Obviously, you should be ready to talk about why you took the course and how it helped you when someone asks about it though.

taking course among other things helps clear assumptions and misconceptions about the nature of the skill.
