This is one of my own favorites, because it's übercute how Gruber tries to interrogate Monsieur Alphonse, supervised by the General.

He couldn't help breaking character for a few moments - which is what makes the entire scene so funny. I'm glad this was kept and used. A retake with out that tiny moment wouldn't have been any where near as funny.

I met Guy Siner yesterday at a Comic Con and he told me this was his most favourite scene in all of Allo Allo. He grew up watching Carry On movies and he said it was like a dream come true working with the legendary Kenneth Connor.

I think you are right. I guess that the line was supposed to be delivered by general instead. Notice how Monsieur Alphonse is first watching Gruber and then general in confusion. He is like "Isn't that his line, not yours?"

My favorite scene would probably be Helgas first date with Herr Flick. Helga: " ze egg is very hard Herr Flick." Flick:"Beat it harrd with your spoon.... in ze end.... zey always break." After which they listen to Herr Flicks collection of Hitlers speeches at double speed, because that makes him sound like Donald Duck.

this is one of the best scenes of Allo Allo you could tell a lot of the Germans in this show were sympathetic except for maybe Herr flick, and general von klinkerhoffen such a tragedy that a lot of the cast are no longer around.
