I actually really pity Parsee... She's pretty much the anthropomorphic personification of a deadly sin, and while all other deadly sins are about indulging in self-satisfaction, envy is the one deadly sin that makes the one who "indulges" it suffer. And since she is a Hashihime, a youkai of jealousy, she likely cannot even NOT be jealous... Such a horrible life.

Sure, a being of wrath is likely not a very happy being, (duh,) but I believe it could probably feel better/satisfied by indulging some catharsis factor-ish activities, like, for exampe, lashing out at/thrashing/violently curbstomping whatever is currently pissing it off... Basically, as long as the being of wrath is self-indulgent and springs at every opportunity to satisfy its aggressive, destructive urges, it doesn't necessarily have to suffer from its sin, though the ultimate consequences of indulging such behavior (e.g., complete isolation, because who would wanna have tea or sake with such a jerk?) likely wouldn't be particularily enjoyable. By contrast, envy has no such let-outs. To be envious/jealous is literally to compare what you have to what someone else has and be dissatisfied with what you have/wish that you had what the other person has instead. Steal what the other person has? Now she is a more virtuous person than you, thief. The other person Marisa stole her belongings, too? She didn't steal them from you, so your belongings really were undesirable compared to someone else's stuff. She actually DID steal them from you? She's a kleptomaniac, so not only is she not responsible for her own actions, she also wasn't really envious of you having that stuff, meaning she's still a person of more admirable character than you. She actually DID steal your stuff because she really WAS envious of you? Congratulations, Parsee, you've gotten yourself a "meal" that will continue to fuel your all-consuming jealousy... I feel it bears repeating: Such a horrible life.

GrahamChapmanΛs I previously said, I completely agree with you on the jealousy front. Λnd it makes sense to me that being constantly consumed with envy would be worse than being constantly consumed with rage. I'm just pointing out that being consumed with rage would suck, unlike being consumed with pride/gluttony/lust/greed/sloth. None of them are sunshine and happiness all the time, but envy really, REΛLLY sucks all the time, and rage really sucks most of the time.

It is a beautiful theme, but says more "Woe is me" than telling a true sad story. It is still fantastic. I'd say another emotional theme is Border of Life and Voyage 1970, but not quite to this caliber of emotion.

The only thing I know when emotional sky scraper enters is seeing byakuren staring tour soul to death becayse tou did something bad to her shrine or to her motorcycle or something bad because its tour fault so what is the meaning of this for byakuren to be angry to tou because you just want to have some time to visit her but something bad happened where you are located there and she thinks its your fault but all this time she dont know that her stupido forina shou did something bad to nazrin which caused trouble where they put all of her anger to you which left you with a big Bulge on your head which is sore and tou hate so much that you want to leave the world for now but ecause they made tou think the whole reality they left you with an apology and you regained your joy and lived with a happy life -- *THE END* --

You should keep trying. I didn't think I could play it either but I went back to it and find I enjoy the pain it gives me whenever I attempt to clear normal. So far my best is beating Normal with two continues. My goal is to unlock Flandre. I'm not very close, but I've found it really is fun to try.

The same fandom that portrays Yukari being over-sensitive about her age, makes Sakuya wear pads despite being an elder-looking Touhou (compared to Remilia and Flan at least), and Kaguya a weakling completely dependent on Eirin, when it is actually Kaguya who has more spells, and it is KAGUYA who aids EIRIN in the latter's final spell. Don't trust the fandom. They take a small part of personality, MAKE IT THE WHOLE CHARACTER.

Of course, I can't verify for myself since i can barely do anything on Normal, meaning i'm not off to Extra Stage anytime soon save Imperishable Night (Assuming I ever own any of the full version regular games at all.)
