If they're officially divorced, legally she doesn't have the final say. The government must intervene. It's not everything Nigeria vs SA. In this case, it's an evil ex-wife vs her ex husband's family wish. Not all Nigerians are bad neither are all South Africans. Shalom ✌️

As a lawyer, I always advise people living abroad to leave clear instructions regarding their estate and burial plans. In this case, the man left his estate to his ex-wife, That made her the executor, and also gives her the authority over his burial arrangements. South African courts often prioritise the immediate family’s interests, and the ex-wife could argue that burying him in South Africa is in the children’s best interests. This highlights the importance of clear instructions to avoid disputes.

@@univera1111 Madam! I understand your perspective, and it’s clear the business environment in Nigeria is tough however, it hasn’t always been as bad as it is now, but these guys have been traveling there and not simply for those reasons you mentioned. The reality is that no matter how challenging things are at home, staying in another country without proper documentation comes with its own risks and challenges, including hostility from locals. It’s not a sustainable solution in the long run. At the end of the day, everyone has to decide what works best for them, but doing things legally and planning for stability is always better. Leave when you do not have the legal right to continue being there, then you can avoid the risks that come with illegal stay in a country that already doesn’t want you. I am a business person and have been conducting foreign exchange transactions for yolks when dollar was still N78 to a dollar and watched it move from 83 to 120 to 160 till about when Buhari came in. Till date, I am still converting to the current rate to conduct my business activities. I have enjoyed when I could get bank rate to travel and now that it is not available. Every Aboki with him kettle.
