Hate him. Love him. Despise him. Whatever. The fact remains that Robert Mugabe will go down in history as the mot important political player to emerge out of the African landscape. Greatness attracts controversy. How is it possible that this man, with all the commotion about him still remains the legitimate President of Zimbabwe, is now the African Union chairman and also the chairman for SADC. Phenomenal.

A tough act to follow for a 91 year old. Vintage Mugabe would always hold his audience spellbound as he did in this 90 minutes speech. He is out of power now and unfortunately did not leave the centerstage when the ovation was loudest. For that and other reasons, he earned his detractors amidst many long-standing admirers. When it is all said and done, President Mugabe will take his rightful place among the pantheon of orators, statesmen and storytellers.

He couldn't be born in two different eras. I wish he was born in the now,in our time, what a wise man and a strong African leader, who endured all the nonsense, dislike, sanctions because he was lied to, only to be the best for his country.House Lancaster and America should have kept their promises. All the wealth of Gabon belongs to France, that is why when real bullets are fired at them, France and its president remain mute. This is mainly the reason why Africans must ask themselves the question of the real presence of multinationals and their armed bases on African soils. I am in favor of an African unity which is no longer merely a view of the mind but a reality. But how do we get there, when Westerners put in place and support systems (ourselves) so that we do not get there?
