That sounds like the "inter-intelligibility" of Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian (and to a lesser extent, French), where speakers of all of those languages can understand the others in that group. A Danish-speaking late friend of mine (he learned it when he worked at Thule Air Force Base, Greenland, as a civilian contractor between 1967 and 1969) found--when we watched the Lillihammer, Norway Winter Olympics in 1994--that spoken and written Norwegian are very similar to Danish, and I've long suspected that Danish, Norwegian, Swedish (and to a lesser extent, German, Finlandic, and perhaps also Icelandic) may also be "inter-intelligible," more or less, to speakers of all of them.
@TheRedSphinx2 жыл бұрын
@@j.jasonwentworth723 Swedish, Danish and Norwegian are mutually intelligible. However, spoken Danish differs, since it uses laryngealization, where as Swedish and Norwegian are tone accented languages. Swedish differs a bit in writing from the other two, where as Norwegian has two official written standards, one which is based on Danish. All three are North Germanic languages, together with Icelandic and Faroese. The latter two are not mutually intelligible with each or the other three, and are called the "insular", the other three are the "continental". As for the Finnish language, it's not even a Indo-European language, but belongs to the Uralic family, along with Karelian, Estonian, Hungarian, and a couple of minority languages in Russia. Swedish is spoken by 6% of the Finns as their mother language though, since what today is Finland was the eastern part of Sweden for 500 years, when it was lost to Russia in 1809. Swedish is also the co-offical language in Finland.

I never got people who say the Viggen is "beautiful"> I think they are ungainly and clunky looking, with a fat fuselage ad weird cranked-delta wings, with outlandish canards and a blunt nose. Now a DRAKEN is beautiful, and a Gripen looks like a dangerous like a little fox, and a Tunnan looks interesting, and a Lansen has a grace of its own.
@micheltangy27257 жыл бұрын
It's quite impressive though. At Lelystad Air Museum in the Netherlands one is standing outside and you can have a real close look (even under the massive main landing gear). It's not a real beauty, but it's quite a performance for a small country like Sweden to come up with a fully competitive jet fighter at that time.

@SonsOfLorgar4 жыл бұрын
Double jets are wasteful on short range interceptors and strike aircraft where the doctrine is focused on simplicity of maintenance, fast turnaround and extreme STOL capacity. The AJ 37 would technically be capable to land, get refuelled, rearmed to full combat load and take off from a Nimitz class USN carrier without needing to retrofit arrestor hook or catapult landing gear to the plane before trying! Same with the JAS 39. The J35 could take off, but not land.

It's too late, we've already lost. Those in control know exactly what they want and how to get it, and how to make sure that everyone who opposes their goals is condemned by their own people, so they don't have to worry about making martyrs themselves. Don't think globalism and multiculturalism is a good idea? Prepare to be ridiculed and ostracized from society, your job, for daring to speak your mind. There is no need to silence you, your own people will ensure you go along, because they are all brainwashed into believing the line: if you don't think free immigration for anyone, all comers met with open arms is rational policy, then you are clearly a _racist_, or a _bigot_, and therefore have nothing to contribute to society, and no right-thinking person should dare speak to you other than to spit at you.
