SAAB 900 T16 rescue (ep 30): FULLY WELDED!!! 😁😎👍

it is solid!!! 😁😎💪👍
the welder has worked his magic on my lovely Beryl Green 900 Turbo, cutting out all the rot and replacing it with repair panels from SAABITS, including the driveshaft tunnels (which is almost always a problem area on the C900 and never a pleasant job to do...)
Next step = get it home via the body shop so they can give me an idea on a full glass-out repaint.
Once home, the interior refit can commence: I'm really looking forward to putting it all back together!
A shout-out to #SAABITS as always for the brilliant repair panels that have saved much time, effort and expense...

The sticker looks to be in Finnish with abbreviations regarding the car configuration. "VÄRILL." can be translated as coloured. "TAKASP" I guess is for backspoiler. "OIK.OHJ" would be right hand drive abbreviated. "MUSTA" means black. Most likely your Saab was built in Uusikaupunki, Finland by Valmet.

Oh man - always wanted one of these. Especially a Carlson. Ive owned a 9000 and 93 turbo convertible. The 9000 on an F plate was a really weird limited edition with gold and black paint scheme and wheels. But the lights were smaller than the normal versions, with a black grill instead of typical silver and rubber duck tail spoiler. Never seen another like it before or ever since. Sadly white van man wrote it off....

The backlights also had continous middle matching the colours of the rear lights via a faux plastic (orange, red, white- for the length of the boot) Its the front lights though- slightly smaller but same shape. Black bumpers with fogs and slight splitter. It wasn't a turbo. Just 2litre 16v automatic too. Steering wheel wasn't typical 3 piece either but 4 piece. Fake walnut dash inside also

Great progress 👍 scary stage is now behind you, putting it back together now knowing everything is solid is a great feeling. Look forward to seeing more progress updates. My Saab is waiting patiently for me to get things finished too, got a abs light on so trying to find the problem there. Cheers

@@martynsboostedswedes I was hoping that too! Changed the front drivers side sensor as it looked the worst but still have light on, saw somewhere that the light stays on even after fixing the problem so need to research more there. The joys!!

Oh, I am amazed to learn that sob sells new lower door attachments. The doors on my old 800 are all rusted out. I assumed that they were not repairable. What website can search to I find these parts?
