I loved my 9000 Aero and my 9000 turbo which I had rechipped. Great cars, fast, luxurious and very roomy.

I want to get a DeLorean and go back in time and save SAAB, we lost something special 🙂

Not possible to "rechip' a Saab. Rather.. One flashes a remapped Firmware to the ecu. Unlikely you even owned one.

bought a '94 9000 CSE with a blown headgasket in 2020 for 300 euro's. Only reason I wanted to save it was because it was a 2.3 turbo, manual gearbox with sunroof. Changed crankshaft bearings, timing chain, skimmed the head and put it back together. Added a T7 APC valve (was a 170hp unregulated turbo), loaded the 200hp + stage 1 software, and dailied it. Till it ate the clutch (well, at 304k km, its to be expected.) Removed the small clutch, put in the 240mm clutch the Aero also had, found a TD04 15T turbocharger on the scrapyard,... etc, etc... A few weeks ago, we drove to Trollhattan for the 40 years Saab 9000 Festival. over 2600km in 5 days. Not bad for a car that was supposed to go to the crapyard. after 3.5 years, its still a daily driver. 😄

I think a clean Saab from the mid 90's looks so so good in 2022, It's an acquired taste i guess but i love them just for being so cool looking.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from a SAAB specialist like yourself. 🙂 I am currently working on a SAAB NG900 video stay-tuned 😉

I fell in love at first test drive, I never know much about Saab until I got in it. It is my first car I bought for myself, been driving my mother in laws new C class and I love my 9000 more than the new car. It is more relaxing to drive and great sensibilities than most new cars with huge pillars that make them so claustrophobic. I was just looking for something I will enjoy as weekend cars, I don't commute as I am working at home, it is perfect car for me. Extra maintenance and high fuel consumption still is cheaper than buying new for me.

I have a VERY eclectic car collection and although I admit to loving back-up cameras, electric steering and even CVT transmissions, I love 90's cars the most. The visibility, styling and connection to the road are just absent in new cars. I have had many older than 1990's cars and as I get older, I just don't enjoy them as much. The 90's are a sweet spot where you have fuel injection, 5spd manual transmissions and power steering. Everything you need, nothing that you don't. ;-)

I've never been a fan of Saab, but I actually like the look of this one. Thanks for teaching me about a car that I didn't know anything about! 😎 👍 I always enjoy the format of your videos, and chuckled at the gapplebee's segment on this one. 😆

I had no opinion on them, I have never worked on one or had any dealings with them. They are very interesting cars, the only problem now is I don't know which one I want more the 900 or the 9000. LOL

Just a note, at one point you mentioned an air cooled engine, NEVER was there a SAAB 9000 with an air cooled engine.
@jasonbowmanlovescars69662 жыл бұрын
You are 100% correct, the script I wrote clearly says "water cooled", but during recording I said "air cooled" for reasons unknown. 😳

@@jasonbowmanlovescars6966 There is a factory in Finland where Saabs were produced and some of their engineers were developing a 4 liter v8, I think there is even vids about an actual concept driving in youtube
You're not alone, my SAAB videos are very popular. Now all I have to do is become a millionaire KZbinr so I can buy a 900 and a 9000 and a garage big enough to keep them and all my other four wheeled children. :-)

Did joyfull 15k km, floor, front windscreen frame is lost, rear longerones fractured and rusted due to pulling heavy loads like 2axis trailers with saab 9-2 on top of it.
