My first car was a 1981 Ford Cortina V 2.0. My second car was a first Saab 900 2.0 Turbo saloon auto. My second Saab was a 1990 9000 CD with auto trans and had 200 bhp, and my third Saab now, a 9000 CSE 2.3 Anniversary auto in dark green. I have great memories of my parents and my bro in my first and second Saab's. I'm gonna hold on to the last genuine Saab for as long as possible. BTW It is a dark horse to a Tesla nowadays on highways.

What a blast from the past! My first Saab a the age if 16 and a half was a 194k mile 84' 900T 4 dr sedan.. that car was raced and beat for about 6 months until I sold it and saved up enough for a 115k mile Rose quartz 87' 9000T 5 spd. I immediately searched every junkyard in a 50 mile radius for a crashed 9000 CSE Aero and found one within a week of buying the car. I scooped up a set of black Aero seats and like new Aero 16" rims and the front/rear suspension. It was saddening looking and stripping this badly rear ended Eucalyptus green 94' Aero but it was totaled with the rear bumper almost touching the back of the rear seats and the front end also smashed from being pushed into whatever was in it's path. but the front and rear black leather Aero seats transformed the drab dark grey interior of the car into a place that was sporty, comfortable and with the leather only being 2 or so years old, made the inside of the car look like it just rolled off of the showroom floor. Then not knowing anything about the front struts and rear springs/shocks besides that the Aero CSE was lower than a regular CSE, I figured why not and I installed the Aero suspension in place of my original 115k mile driven 87' 9kT front struts/rear springs and aero rear shocks. Amazingly, everything fit and although the Aero suspension was 20 or something like that millimeters lower than a CSE's ride height, it was at least 60mm lower than the stock 87' 900T's suspension... not to mention that the Aero suspension was designed to be stiffer, sportier, and to make a heavier car than my 87' 9kT handle like it was on rails... I was unprepared for what was ahead of me! So after installing the suspension, I put on my Aero wheels which the owner of the crashed Aero had just put new tires in which were not the original 205-55-16's but 225-40-16's!!! The car looked amazing! It was lower to the ground than any car on the road, had monster wide rubber that looked like a racecar and the suspension was so stiff that it kept the car from hitting the ground as well as made the car 100% safe for daily driving... or should I say daily FLYING! For $300 ( what I was charged for all the Aero parts at the junkyard ) I had transformed what was a 65 year old man's garaged. daily commuting 4 door sedan that had a Saab service booklet with every recommended service completed and stamped by The Saab dealership where it was purchased in Boston Mass. right up to it's final major 100k service which was done 4 oil changes before I purchased the car aaand now The car looked like a Saab Nascar with it's stance and super wide tires gluing it to the pavement. It rode, drove and cornered like it was on rails all while taking any imperfection in the road without batting an eye. The struts/shocks were essentially brand new with about 20k on them before the Aero was totaled so they were not only sporty but plush and fresh making my old Saab drive like a new Aero but better! The final icing on the cake was how good the Aero wheels with super wide low profile tires looked. The beautiful Silver wheels paired with my weekly waxed rose quartz paint turned heads and had my teenage self become the talk of my entire highschool. This was in 1996 and I can remember kids in my highschool calling me a rich snob since they thought my parents were paying monthly car payments on my "New" Saab. hahaha! Eventually a guy who was a year older than me who was also on the soccer team asked what my monthly payments were.. I told him that I bought the car for $1500 from it's 65 year old original owner. He then told me about the rich snob rumor and we both had a good laugh about it. But that's where this video brings me back to... oh to be young again, so many good times were had in that car! It was my baby and def helped me in the popularity dept as well as with the ladies:) Thought I'd have it for many years until I caught an illness which made me sell the 87' 9kT. That illness was known as 88' 900 SPG which I paid top dollar for in 1999. I could not resist the car with it having had the engine/tranny/suspension rebuilt by a Saab Guru at one of the best specialty Saab repair shops in the country. 1 test drive was all it took for me to shell out the most money I had ever had in my 18 years on the planet. But that purchase from that saab repair shop was the best investment I ever made.... What I did to that car made it legendary to where I am still known to this day as the guy with the crimson metallic Saab. But that story is for another video ;)

Interesting that they say the 2 door body was dropped for 87. Perhaps in the US market. I almost bought a 1987 2 door.
