Very sad to hear about your car Lee after seeing the fantastic work you put into it - but the important thing is it's done what the engineers designed it to do and you and your wife are uninjured! Cars can always be replaced - look forward to seeing your next project!

Thanks so much for your support. I'll be picking up a 94 commorative edition convertible soon. It needs some love...so I hope you'll be watching as it comes back to life.

That's the spirit Lee! When I sold my Volvo 1800E that I resto'd, my wife was happy but not me. So I turn around & bought a Saab 9-3 project car. You can see most of its resto on my 316 Automotive channel. Keep charging! Maury

My DD is a Volvo S80 so I'm a curious why you sold your 1800- a great classic. I'll drop in to your channel and see your progress. Welcome to the Saab family.

I finished the resto, so was looking for another Swedish project car. My son found the Saab & the price was rite. I don't have room for 2 project cars so 1 had to go.

I was done with the 1800 resto, so sold it to a guy in Luxembourg. I can only afford 1 project car @ a time.

Happy that you both are safe. Those Saabs were built like tanks. I’ll bet the structural integrity of the car helped save you in the crash.

I agree. The convertibles had additional steel near the point of impact. Even though we were straddling the ditch, the top still operates!

So very sorry. Glad everyone is okay. Y'all must be pretty upset after all the work you put into the car. Please take some consolation from the fact that many of us who watched your videos of the project learned a great deal. What you took the time to teach us will endure even if you didn't get to enjoy the car as much as you deserved to.

I know that has to hurt all the love and work to make it perfect again. I would be more than pi*****. However it shows how well the Saab protected you and your wife.That is a classic and I would be looking to get another.Try to keep all the extra work down to a minimum. These are getting harder and harder to find. We love your videos and the pointers you have shown. I presently have 3 2 9000's and 1 9-5

Lee kelso im sorry to hear about your car, but glad you and your wife are ok. Ive been watching some of your videos to aid in working on my 87 saab 900 which is a 5 speed. Just recently put an inner driver imto my transmission and now waiting for my cv axle to come in though it keeps getting delayed with the shipping. But ive seen how much you were putting into this car of yours and it is truly sad to see its terrible fate.

ahhh darnit Lee. Glad you're all right. Your SAAB chassis did what a SAAB chassis was designed to do: kept you safe! I think you should keep the parts, especially the (newer) swapped in parts, and have as a back up for your next SAAB.

This is the fear for me when I restore cars. Put all effort and money in it and than the car gets totalled. Happy you're both "okay" but I guess you will part out the 900 and save the bits and peaces intact for the next Saab in need.
@Modestwine327894 жыл бұрын
What was the insurance you used to remunerate you for the value of the car beyond the kbb value ?
@LeeKelso4 жыл бұрын
An agreed-value collector car policy from Grundy Insurance. You tell them the amount you want to ensure for, submit photos as proof of value, and you're set. It was quick and inexpensive - totally worthwhile.
