So funny that around minute 10 with the rust fix spray I was thinking "he really needs to use POR15 on this trunk space" and BAM 2 minutes later there we are!

plywood. Saabs use plywood. not MDF. not masonite. Saabs were BIG on plywood in the 70s. parts of seats were made of plywood on my 99 and early 900s
