Back in October I had an early chance to drive a 2016 Camaro SS 6-Spd from Philadelphia, PA to Raleigh, NC. It was an awesome chance to get some seat time for a few days and really experience it as a daily driver. Now, we get to take a look at a loaded 2SS (the previous one was a 1SS) and dive into the optional dual mode exhaust system and see just how much it enhances the car! As the name suggests, this video focuses entirely on sound, demonstrating this incredible exhaust setup in a variety of ways from different camera angles, static revs and inboard driving shots to acceleration, GoPro bumper shots, cold starts and more. FYI, anyone questioning the stealth mode cold start. What you heard is indeed stealth mode, no mistake was made. Look and listen closely and you'll see and hear the difference. The butterfly valves are in the outer pipes. When switching to track mode, you can see the condensation come out of the outer pipes before they're closed off in stealth mode. Same goes for the cold starts. In the stealth clip, the condensation is coming out of the inner pipes, while track mode you can see it coming from the outer pipes as well. Track mode is much deeper and louder in person. If you listen carefully, the stealth mode is raspier as its being restricted by the closed off pipes. Of course, it all makes more sense in person. The camera could also have been positioned slightly differently. In the end, they're both quite loud lol. Stealth mode, to me is more about being quiet while driving.

However, in the later clip where he switches between the two, he lists the "Track" mode first. I just preferred the rear end tail lights of the 2010-era camaros. They were more reminiscent of the classic camaro and have great aggressive lines with aggressive front halo headlamps. These new camaros have the tail lights I would expect to find on a fucking Chevy Malibu.

Superb symphonic splendor. To my way of thinking, nothing sounds as good as a big American V-8-other than a naturally-aspirated Ferrari V-12. I especially love the sound of the 550 Maranello with the Tubi exhaust.

Gotta have a laugh (2:57) that for a car with options like this designed specifically to appeal to car exhaust sound enthusiasts, the initial opening growl of the car starting is exactly on time with the first beep tone of the startup chime, so you don't even hear that cherished start in the cabin. That's hilarious. You'd have thought someone woulda noticed that considering they actually take it so seriously there's a $1000 upgrade to customize and alter engine/exhaust sounds.

I just got done reading Car and Driver's comparison of the 2016 SS and the 2015 GT. I can't believe how much more quiet the Mustang is compared to the Camaro. Sure, a simple custom exhaust would cure the Mustang, but the Camaro sounds sick right off the lot. Its too bad Chevy couldn't improve the interior/exterior of the car. That's the reason despite it being over half a second faster in the quarter mile, the Mustang still outsells it.

The Exhaust is pretty nice, better than the Mustang GT now. It used to be the Camaro SS sounded like it was trapped in a plastic box or something but they finally let the sound out of the engine. As for the look...in the beginning, I thought the new look was more attractive than the previous gen look but I see now that it was due to the initial pictures I saw of it. With more views and angles and having seen in person, my thought is, it's trying to achieve the curves of the current Mustang and it just doesn't work on the Camaro. It looks "bubblier". The previous gen look is less rounder on the edges but more sexy and slicker. The previous gen looks likes it's closer to the ground, shorter, and wider, even though it's not. A win for American ingenuity nevertheless. I own a 2016 Mustang GT and I don't think there's any need to buy foreign anymore, which is so much more pricier for realistically an insignificant amount of performance gain, and luxury that the driver doesn't necessarily experience as much as the passengers do (get a limo and a driver).

I need this in my life, I work night shift. I have always wanted something that can be loud during the day but quiet when I come home at 3am. thankfully with the setup I have on my truck (flowmaster 40 with cats) its fairly quiet when I get home. but in my opinion mine really doesnt deliver the low aggressive growl that I really want.

I think you had the intital cold starts backwards. Stealth is supposed to be quiet, track is louder. You have them backwards.
