@@saabkyle04 - You and me both, man! Your Camaro sounds a lot like the old “Cheviac” with the exhaust opened up. I guess I shouldn’t really be that surprised since they both have/had the 305 V8. It’s too bad Dave made such poor choices off camera. His early videos were awesome and the guy was a mechanical genius. But sadly we weren’t seeing the whole picture. What a shame.

Loved that channel. When I first started watching KZbin videos as a teen I'd pretty much just go back and forth between David's Farm and Saabkyle04 lol. Glad to see Kyle still crushing it though, his channel is really on a different level now 🤙

Well done dude. You and your buddy have done a great job in getting the Camaro back to life. Persistance' a little bit of hard work and most importantly having a very positive and happy go lucky attitude goes a long way. I purchased a 1979 Gen II z28 Camaro myself three years ago and I went through a similar process over time to get my car running well today so I appreciate your time in putting this video together,,, ,,good luck with the rest of the rebuild Lawrence from Don under.

Yes!!! As a guy who owns an 80 Z28, this is what I'm talking about! Love love love the 78 to 81 Second Gens the most. The berlinetta and the RS flew under the radar. I'd love to find an 80 RS all original. What does it for me on the 80/81 Z28 is the stripe kit, the N90 aluminum wheels and the lines of the car. Just stunning. This berlinetta is gorgeous too. The downfall to these cars besides the power is they look awful without spoilers.

Today it has just 58,000 miles, 50,000 of those from him. We are making it road worthy again here soon finally. It is pretty minty, charcoal blue exterior and red interior. Thinkin I’ll get it in a few years and then I can make it fast haha

Camaro says she will get you to Florida, but getting back might be an adventure. The car that turned the Chevy key for me was a 73 solid bumper Type LT, in the same shade of brown, with a tan vinyl top and no spoiler. 350 4v, 3.73 gears. Great fun, zero problems. Made me a Chevy fan. Good luck with it.

There is an error in the Gates catalog for 1979. I'm surprised it's still there. The upper hose you want is Gates part number 20868, it fits much better. I also highly recommend installing a Gano Filter in the upper hose to keep any rust that breaks loose from entering the radiator.

79 were dark days for performance , I was there. Got a 77 B210 5-manual hatch to deal with gas shortage/prices. HWY speed limit was reduced to 55 in 1974 , wasn't raised to 65 until 1995. That Datsun/Nissan was a great car , used an Austin designed engine that Nissan made some improvements to. Nissan had a licensing deal with Austin.

For anyone who doesn't understand the Smog, Emission & safety Era: In 1970 if you ordered a base Camaro you would get the 250 cubic inch Inline 6 cylinder mated to the Saginaw Muncie SM326 3-speed manual, it made 155hp at 4,200 RPM, and 235 ft-lb at 1,600 RPM. 0-60 in 10.9 seconds, top speed 110 mph, and with an 8.5 : 1 Compression ratio it was one of the more potent six's. (The optional 307 made a respectful 200hp) In this case Kyle: A 1979 Camaro Sport Coupe with the optional 305 small block V8 and Turbo Hydramatic 3-speed slush box-omatic made 130hp at 3,200 RPM, & 245 ft-lb at 2,000 RPM. 0-60 in 12.6 seconds with a top speed of 113 mph. Compression ratio was .1 down to the straight 6 at 8.4 : 1. A 6-cylinder was actually slightly better than a V8, and makes the 307 look like a monster!

I wanted to start off thank you for the laughs 🤣 and for bringing another video of the camaro. Also waited until the very end to comment, Again if you can just clean the wheels and if there any good to put new tread on. Love those. Second it was to quiet if you can get a nice exhaust nothing to over the top just make it have a nice sound to it and grumble. Motor seems to run good other than a few things to keep it running, clean it up and just make roadworthy as I said in the last video and just enjoy it. In your case just enjoy your work that you put into it and see it go to a awesome home to live on. Like I said drive it until you need to put a motor, of course have to clean the interior up but no need to go over the top. It would be a goodie it deserves to live on. Lol I’d clean it up as best as I could and just clear coat just be a dirty looking weekend cruiser 😂 winning no beauty contest but just a driver that you can get in and just go to town or wherever just enjoy it. Love it. The car you tinker on with your kids, wife if you have one into it just a great example of enjoyment for not a lot of money.
