Thank you for sharing. It was such fun to watch and hear your joy for each piece. It is such a blessing that your husband not only encourages you but helps provide for your endeavors. They are all so generous I couldn't pick just one but the gold and red sunflower would definitely be in the top 5. The digital packs are so generous of you to do. Allowing people to purchase some of your art, that they can then add some of their own. Awesome.

Don't forget when you peel the fabric off, you can get a print from that too! Lay it paint side up on your desk and brayer paper on the top of it. That way you get a positive and negative print from one process and waste almost no paint. 😊 You can also brayer paint directly onto your vinyl tablecloth, then flip that onto your plain gel plate so the only paint that goes on is the pattern. Again peel it off, and print two sheets of paper, one on the plate and one on the vinyl. I'm always buying these papers too in bold colours! Why do we do that? 😂 Although this process certainly gives them more of a muted wallpaper look that's a LOT more usable. I tend to use plain colours for die cutting leaves and flowers or that sort of thing. I think the reason I can't resist buying them, is because those papers tend to be geared towards children and not for proper arts and crafts - ... AND YET ... - are far thicker and cheaper than buying ordinary adult art quality white papers or card! Why that is I don't know? You'd think the dye and heavier weight to them would make them more expensive, not cheaper! I've only got a 6" x 6" jelly plate so I cant do whole sheets....but I may just lightly brayer paint all over my vinyl tablecloths and use them as the jelly plate, to transfer the paint to the paper. I bet you could make a whole batch of lacy looking patterns just using white gesso! Oooh I've got some gorgeous shimmery watercolour paints that would look beautiful for light splatters all over the top. Got my brain whirring! I'm waiting for a set of black and white fineliner pens to be delivered and I bet those doodled here and there around the pattern shapes would create a more defined pattern. Oooh or my metallic gel pens in silver or gold! They would really transform the swirls of print into some historical opulent fabric or wall covering! 😍 So many options...and so damn cheap to do! It doesn't matter if it goes wrong really, not when it's only costing pennies per sheet. I like crafts like this sometimes, where you're not trying to make a finished project, you're just having fun and experimenting. There's no pressure, it doesn't matter if your crafting buzz has reached a standstill, or you can't think of what to make. You just sit down like a kid, get the paints out and get messy. Actually I think I may head out to my patio and have a day of this over the weekend! I've got a ton of that long Amazon packing paper that I carefully separated along the perforations, into individual sheets and ironed them. Some of those would be cool with some pattern and texture. And of course my thick WAD of bright paper will go out with me too! I'm actually excited! I've been making things for Father's Day and feeling the pressure to make things to PERFECTION. If I make things as gifts I'm MEGA FUSSY and they have to be perfect, or I'll just start again and get annoyed at myself! 😠 And so I'm looking forward to a more relaxed craft session, out in the sunshine, listening to chirping birds, and clearing my head of high expectations of myself. I'm gonna get a basket filled up with everything I need in advance! I'm really really excited! Like I'm planning a day trip! 😁 I'm so glad I watched! Thank you! 😘 xxxxx

Wonderful, you just added an awesome idea to my mental collection of what my husband and I could do during vacation in hot summers in cities. To get some air conditioning we can visit thrift stores where he will look for his favorite stuff and I will look for textured fabrics & plastics. Up until now I only checked old books & magazines sections and now I will add textiles (clothing, drapery, tablecloths, placemats and such) to the routine. I love your box of diy stamps and thanks a ton for showing ideas of using silhouette templates on gel plate as masks (to be followed with decorating with posca pens afterwords). Gold prints on black look stunning. It is so satisfying to see your experiments, you have real talent.

I believe that if you would put the fabric immediately into water the paint might come out and you can use it again. I do that with my silk screens.
@Saacibo5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the tip. I sometimes keep a tub of water nearby to soak them after use. Quick washing machine cycle after soaking takes a lot of paint off, too. Sometimes, I leave the paint to dry on the fabric. I find it becomes less absorbent with some paint on it 😊

Silicone mats work. I place it on a thin foam placemat enclosed in a zip lock bag for a little give. Brayer needs a little cushion. There are different silicone thicknesses to choose from.

Hello! I just found your channel. Just am FYI read the instructions that came with your new plate. You are not supposed to use the plastic film that came on the plate for storage. The recommend to use paper and then put back in the clam shell. ❤

Thanks for the info! I’ll do that. 😊

People break that rule for a reason. To leave one plastic on keeps that side unused & see-through. Turn to see the design 🐾🙂💚

Why do you (and I) keep buying colored papers (and other art supplies)? My belief is that it is the shadow side of being creative; we see something -paper, paint, fabric, beads, whatever, and we have an idea for a project, and we feel the need to actualize that project. Forget that we already have so many supplies. Others call us greedy, but then people love to criticize the flaws in others while ignoring their own.
@Saacibo7 ай бұрын
So true! I’m just glad that I found a way to use these papers and have fun. 😆
